Depending on exactly what's going wrong there very well may not be another way for them to get that info to us. I had emails from Simu-TechUpdate (I think a GoogleGroup) that I saw before trying to log in, and there were posts on the GS and Alliance of Heroes (so I assume DR and MO as well) pages on FB that I saw when I went to check that instead of trying to log in.

I don't do Twitter, either, and since I know there's no way my schedule lets me chase down merchants like some maniac, the mailing group and FB posts (both of which Simu seems fairly good at keeping up with) keep me updated with the most important stuff...like downtime.

As I understand it Whuid did make it back, though was probably effected by the same lag as everyone else so things were kind of slow going. Eybria did not make it back, but Thandiwe did mention on the officials that she would bring her back before the end of the festival and would make some sort of announcement prior to doing so.

After the lag stopped being so crippling and the connection seemed steady for a little while we did get Vemeon who drew the raffle for one of the lockpick cases and did some work on things from his shop, Evlissa who worked at Festivity Feasts customizing picnic baskets/blankets or food (she said she'll be back tonight!) and Trizlan who did his metalsmithing. All in all, it ended up being a pretty busy night.
