I see now, it says that he didn't say anything at the HS but did at the college.. I'm pretty sure you can say you don't want to be recorded at any time, but apparently they forgot to say it at the high school.

Now now you cannot blame Scalia for the actions of a US marshal.
After reading it a second time it looks as if they are saying that the US marshal acted on her own accord. and the timeline was
Speak at college (warned not to record) Speak at High School (marshal neglected to warn not to record)
Us Marshal demands that it gets erased

Read it again and let me know if you see id differently

Nowhere does it say he demanded that the marshal take the recordings, it says that the marshals found out about it and acted.

I do however follow what the artical says and I will give more crediblity to the wording of the article by the AP than that of somebody who "thinks" they know more than they do. Considering you were not there, nor were you the one who spoke with the people involved to write the article, I do not see how you are in a position to say what happened.

I think a Marshal would do that, trying to get connections in the world is something plenty of people do, and who better then a Supreme Court Judge?

What I discerned was that the guy has spoken in that area multiple times, and the Marshal has probably been there with him on more then one occasion. On the other occasions he most likely said 'no recorder,' this one he forgot, so the Marshal just figured it was policy as always, which is no recorders, when in fact it was never said.

One could certainly dabble in the question of why the good Justice is so determined that his speeches not be on the record, though.

I did a search and it only took a second.

I already said it was a typo, until she made an issue of it then it was an intended action. If you compare and contrast the threads and dates of the posts it was not a consistent thing, and in fact is completely random. I said I made a mistake, why is it you see it needed to get on my case after I already admitted fault about it?

20 years old with a well paying job (for somebody 20... and with all the "unemployed" people out there probably more than that :smirk: ) and an education that I have paid for on my own. I have also decided on my own to give that up and go into a service for my country. I am proud of myself. I will continue to excel in the things I attempt in my life. Your insulting my spelling and\or grammar has little effect on my accomplishments and me. Nor does it have any relation to the amount of effort I put into things that matter to me. The sad thing is people like you, Tsa'ah, Longshot, TheE, Gemstone101, SHM seem to have no other way to correct me than insulting my proficiency in the written language.

You use no logic in your arguments, you can't argue a point to save your life, and your only tactics to TRY and win an argument is to go "uber-Patriot" on everyone's ass, saying "My country right or wrong!" and "America is the bestest, if you don't like it, leave!"

I would like for you to point out my illogical arguments. I assure you millions upon millions of other people share my views. They might not live in your town, or be the hundreds of Mexicans with AIDS that you speak to about politics every day. My arguments can also be back with facts, just as yours can. The fact that we disagree politically is the cause for your dislike for me. It is obvious to me at least. I will also point out that I unlike you do not need to walk around from thread to thread, as you have done again here, and insult you. I state my opinions and views as well as things I feel passionately about. I am patriotic, and if that is a bad thing, I will be a bad person for it. I understood the post DarkElfVold. I asked that question of her knowing that she would insult me, and in return I was able to point out that she lacked proper sentence structure and capitalized words that should not have been.

We all disagree at one time or another, about something or other. That is what makes us individual, sentient beings. Because one person does not hold the same views, loyalties, or beliefs as another person does not make either person retarded, ignorant, or stupid. It simply makes them different. There is nothing wrong with thinking differently.

Some of us spell very well. Others of us do not. So what? While it may take a bit more effort to decipher some peoples' posts, that does not make their opinions or feelings any less worthy. I can spell, use proper grammar, and punctuate pretty well. However, if an exercise in higher mathematics shows up on these boards, you will hear from me a silence so profound as to be frightening! :lol:

Rather than bicker among ourselves about the unimportant things, especially in threads like this one, let us ignore those things and focus on the things that matter. While doing this, I would hope we could also respect the beliefs and feelings of others, even if we do not hold those same beliefs and feelings ourselves. In most cases, far more is accomplished that way than through insults and disdain, eh?

Just because someone does not agree with you, that does not make them stupid. Neither is someone stupid just because they do not spell, or use the English language, properly.
