So, I can log in fine with one char, try and log in another on the same account and get this:
--- Lich: lnet active.
--- Lich: updater active.
--- Lich: infomon active.
[infomon: checking stats...]
--- Lich: infomon has exited.
--- Lich: Settings: cannot identify calling script
--- Lich: updater has exited.
--- Lich: lnet has exited.

* Connection to the game has been lost. You will need to login again to continue playing.
I deleted ruby and lich, and reinstalled them. Still to no avail. Ideas?

I was helping her troubleshoot this, and had her delete all the map.dat files, as well, and then log in another character and ;updater update forcemap
Didn't help.

There's a bunch of .sav files in the data folder under the main lich directory. I'd start with the setting.sav file since it seemed to get caught up here "Lich: Settings: cannot identify calling script". You could try moving (don't delete in case it doesn't work, you'll want to put that back) it out of the folder and seeing if that helps.

It may be unrelated, but I was having a bit of trouble with Lich earlier today when my wireless shorted out. I logged on without Lich and logged out, which fixed the problem.

I think you should show your husband Gemstone and then let him figure it out.

When this has happened to me, logging in with out lich, saving the stuff locally instead of on the gemstone servers and logging out and back in with lich resolved it.
