Alright...so this may end being a bit of a fools errand, but I'm trying a war wizard variant for an elf build. It's based off of a combination of the D&D bladesinger and stormwarden concepts. The build isn't optimal, but i'm hoping it's functional. It is basically a TWC wizard build.
So that said here are my stats:
Level 5 Elf Wizard
Strength (STR): 93 (21)
Constitution (CON): 88 (19)
Dexterity (DEX): 72 (16)
Agility (AGI): 85 (32)
Discipline (DIS): 70 (-5)
Aura (AUR): 81 (20)
Logic (LOG): 86 (18)
Intuition (INT): 30 (-10)
Wisdom (WIS): 47 (-1)
Influence (INF): 27 (-1)
Skills:
Skill Name Bonus Ranks
Two Weapon Combat..................| 30 6
Armor Use..........................| 20 4
Edged Weapons......................| 30 6
Physical Fitness...................| 30 6
Spell Aiming.......................| 58 12
Harness Power......................| 25 5
Elemental Lore - Air...............| 20 4
Perception.........................| 25 5
Climbing...........................| 5 1
Swimming...........................| 5 1
Spell Lists
Major Elemental....................| 5
Minor Elemental....................| 2
Wizard.............................| 4
The current plan is to pick up haste then strength. I've been using bolt spells as a supplement to my hunting, but I planned to be focusing on minor elemental until I get e-blade, so wizard is going to stay at 4 for a while.
All that said, I was curious if any of you have input (other than "don't do it!") or see any massive problems with the build thus far. Thanks bunches!
EDIT:
Just want to mention that I am in my first 30 days, so I have fixskills and stat reassignments a-plenty.

It should be doable... I did a wizard as an archer with useless skills like 1x survival/first aid. I don't see any CM training which will start to hurt you later. I'd drop the spell aim, personally, and pick up CM unless it's for some sort of RP purposes. 513 is going to hurt your (already low) AS while swinging if you use it and hurt your spell aim if you don't.
As an elf/wizard with stats placed for CAP I would do something like.
1x edged
1x TWC
1x CM
.5x PF to max HP
.99x HP (level - 1)
1x major until 527 (then fill out wizard)
1x minor until 430 (then fill out wizard)
Pitter patter of climb/swim/perception/MIU/AS/EMC as you see fit. The points are tight but it's doable.

Thanks! I'm gonna try your input!
Just from talking to other war mages, I think you'll definitely want to pick up enough CM to get decent at feint.

Like they said. I would bump PF and armor to .5x and lose spell aim all together unless you plan on casting. That should free up points to 1x CM.
Once you start getting more points to play with, throw it back in. I just hit 40 on my war mage and just got up to 2x spell aim and 1x magic items. Next probably scrolls then armor.

This.
I'll echo this as well. To put it in perspective...
around level 25 my hunting became very limited (geographic limitation and a product of avoiding undead to not bother with a bless) and the only option had a maneuver attack to contend with. So i started using a disable on every one of them to avoid it.
My hunt times would be around 5 minutes and at least half the time I would need to rest because of mana, not being a full mind (it would be close, but not quite fried)
I kinda forgot about my CM points, I dumped them all into movement for some cheap DS in the early levels before I had 414, 905, 913, etc. etc. I changed them to feint and changed my hunting to feinting the maneuver mobs instead of disabling with a spell.
hunt times went down to 2 minutes 30 seconds - 3 minutes, and fried every time.

I am doing a TWC/OHE warmage in plat. I have not had the points to spare, given the high cost of TWC for a mage, to get enough SA to be worthwhile, so I completely left it out. I have managed to get fully 1x in OHE and TWC, got down to a 1 second hasted swing with a falchion and a handaxe by level 13, and am doing quite well at 33 now. Still no SA, though.
Fully 1x in PF, as well, 15 ranks of armor for doubles, obviously 24 ranks of air lore, 27 MjE, 13 ranks of Wizards base (for 913), and 32 ranks of MnE. Can't remember the rest, but the normal stuff, including almost 1x in CM.
GoS is a really good society for warmages, as you can get HCW for your weapons using sigils. Currently uses a perfect 4x acid flaring falchion and a 0x superior invar handaxe (using eblade to make it 4x and flaring). With the sigil of major bane, each weapon is 4x, flaring, superior or perfect, and HCW. Hard to beat that.
But yea, the TWC is a huge drain on TP's

Don't worry about the MIU, scroll, SA, etc early on. Spend your points on the weapon skills. Catch up the cheap shit later. Make sure you 1x CM.

Around 25 I found arctic wolverines and snow leapords around pinefar to be very easy. Only problem was trying to get there alive, but once you did, could hunt and rest in pinefar easy. Only other issue is they dropped no loot.

25ish, I was hunting jungle trolls and jungle troll chieftains. Yeha, the chieftains have ranger spells (spikethorn), but if you just hit them first, and keep hitting them, they won't cast. 410 for swarms.
Once I hit 29? I was hunting storm giants and cold guardins behind the rolaren gate in Icemule. Again, hit the storm giants first, and you have no worries.
