And look up.
Perseids tonight. Now to two hours from now.
I'll be out back with a beer and the upstate clear-as-hell sky.

I'm like 15 miles outside of the city of chicago... I'll look, but doubt I'll see a fuckin thing.

Was an awesomely clear and dark upstate sky tonight. I was thinking it was going to be shitty because this afternoon was cloudy as fuck.
Anyways was a sweet show.

I have a map of the world that shows light pollution. Everywhere is moderately lit, except the eastern US which is like a second sun, and africa is just a big dark spot. That was a light comment, not a race comment.

I could have seen it. I didn't thought. I was more immersed in SC2 playing pew pew pew and looking at the stars IG through technology and graphics and stuff.
God SC2 turns me on.

This is kind of nice for finding places to view the night sky:
Clear Sky Chart (http://www.cleardarksky.com/c/CndnTXkey.html)
There is a link that gives the viewing conditions at over 4000 places.

Too cloudly last night, which made me sadface. Usually have a great view.
To make me smile, here are some fun tweets from Neil deGrasse Tyson (http://twitter.com/neiltyson) from the last few days regarding it:
Perseid Meteor Shower: A Sun-orbiting debris stream left over from Comet Swift-Tuttle. Earth plows thru it yearly: Aug 11&12
FYI: Earth, in its orbit around the Sun, plows through several hundred tons of meteors per day. More during meteor showers.
Annual summer favorite: Perseid meteor shower. Nights of Aug 11 & 12. Peak rate of 1 per min. Good in eve, but best after 1am
Since Peking is now called Beijing, I always felt that Peking Duck should now be called Beijing Duck.

My son and I curled up on the porch swing under a sleeping bag and watched from 10 til 11. We lost count after 12. It was awesome.
