I was at work, and asked another employee to copy/paste to me the URL of the report she was using.

She copy/pasted it into Excel, printed it, hand wrote the end of the URL that had been cut off, and scanned it into a pdf which she sent to me.

I laughed so hard I cried.

http://gravity.dnsprotect.com/~gsplayer/forum/showpost.php?p=1149820&postcount=1248This was so epic, it deserves its own thread. Thanks Jorddyn (sorry you live in Ioway).

I had a person I was training ask me 'how do you figure that?'

I said, math and numbers.

Dawning realization is fucking hilarious.

I had to read it twice to try and figure out if there was a hidden 'just kidding that didnt really happen' in there somewhere.

He had the hard drive divided into six partitions, C: through J:, with a 'Documents' directory tree on each one. Each new file appeared to be saved to a partition at random. I knew enough not to ask." alt="Workaround" />

XKCD: always relevant.

(And it's a mouseover, NOT A CAPTION)

Welcome to every time I talk to my mother about computer problems. I'll eventually have to go over and do it myself. By this time though I am so impatient I'll do it to fast and so heated that I won't explain how to do it because she usually forgets.

This makes me think of writing it down so she can do it when I'm not there. Good idea self.

Mouseover: Hey, Megan, it's dad, how do I print the flow chart?

A lady at work called me 'gutsy' because I opened google while trying to troubleshoot a mac issue she had.

It's mostly for programmers, but they have some typical computer issues too, but www.thedailywtf.com is a site of people doing really stupid shit with computers.

They have a (Weekly?) reoccurring segment called "Error'd" which has funny error messages which anyone could appreciate. An example:

"You'd think machines were invented to uncomplainingly perform repetitive tasks. Nobody realizes that they could - like humans - hate their ungrateful low-paying jobs." writes Giannis.
