News broke that Farve is going to announce his retirement. Do you believe it?

Him and Urban Meyer should do a TV show.

I am leaning towards that this is it. If his ankle feels like shit, there's no way he will try another season.

He's done.

Firstly, his ankle is shot. His body is old, and no longer sports the regenerative abilities that made him the iron man. His toughness isn't there anymore, and his body is giving in quite rapidly now. Years and years of taking ridiculous punishment are finally destroying his physical wellbeing, and rather than need knee replacements or extensive back surgery at the end of NEXT year, he's holding himself out of danger (for once). Good man.

Secondly, his family. This point needs no real support. It's obvious.

Finally, Adrian Peterson. The Vikings' franchise player singlehandedly cost them the chance to play in the Superbowl, and blew a few monumental opportunities all throughout the year. Short of the NFL allowing players to throw on the stick'em, I don't believe Favre would subject his legacy to a mistake-prone uberback that has choked in every big moment he's even seen. Not after it bit him once already.

Chuck in the prospect of Favre hitting the Hall of Fame before Holmgren, and the motivation is clearly there.

Living near Green Bay for most of my life, I hope he's finally done.

Hasn't he ended the last three seasons with an interception? What a way to go out.

He's done. He doesn't want any part of a Saints defense that's even better than the last time he faced them.

Why is it that we still only have this "source"?

Why can't we get something from the team or from Brett?

I am very suspicious.

I suspect it is a ruse by ESPN for another installment of their new really shitty special "The Decision".

As a Packers fan who has accepted Brett with the Vikings I hope he plays another year. I fucking love that guy.

So, apparently he HASN'T made his decision, but instead, suggested he would play this year if he's 100% healthy. Being that his body will not recover nearly fast enough to play opening day, I'm thinking we've seen the last of the throwback amazingsauce Favre.

The only way he comes back now is if he's stupid enough to disregard injury and put himself before the team, even if Favre at 25% is better than TJ or Sage overperforming their lights out.

The extra 10 million might help him come back as well.
