With the current lull in conflict in Shattered, how many of you would be interested in Thursday night group battles? I'm thinking of teams of 3, 5, and 8, with various rules. Rule setups could be:

Category 1: No hiding, no mass spells. Melee free for all.
Category 2: No magic.
Category 3: Self-cast spells only, anything else goes.
Category 4: Anything goes.

Teams would be composed of people within 5 levels of each other, for brackets of:

5-10
11-15
16-20
21-25
26-30
31-35
36-40
Etc.

Arenas would be the boulder in the Landing and outside the West Gate of Ta'Illistim or some such.

I like this idea. Too bad we can't use the arena.

Abandoned Inn would be better. Those battles were fun.

Wherever you'd like. You're thinking of the catacombs?

I just tossed up a post on the Shattered forums asking about an arena. Add some support if you would: http://www.play.net/forums/messages.asp?forum=109&category=1&topic=3&message=1254

That leaves out sorcs and the rest of the pures. Warmage ftw.

I'll sign up for the "anything goes" section!

No problem. Just suggest another category.

What about the "I suck at PvP but want to participate anyway" category?

I can't be the only one.

Hm. The Mosh Pit of Meandering Madness. No groups, no mass spells. Fight to the death!

Honestly, this. I would love to try it for fun cause I would suck horribly against someone in a real fight.

Have to admit I'm not too hot either (little slow on the draw - i.e. sometimes can't read fast enough). Scripts will help.

How about a no weapons, no shields category.

Heh. Ok. The Mosh Pit of Meandering Madness will take place in the brawling tavern in Icemule.

You need an entrance fee so you can have prizes of course! I liked the idea of having an enclosed multi room area with limited exits that could be monitored, like kobold village, a la paintball. The only downfall to that would be someone hiding until the end of the game in order to be the last man standing. You'd have to factor in kill shots or attacks.

I really love this idea btw.

Ooo! I like the prize idea! :)

How about the 8 rooms that make up the Elven Village?

1217, 7895, 7896, 7899 --- plus 4 other room #'s - The outside rooms only.

I agree that an organized thing will be fun. I'm not against pvp, although I don't wish to participate in it. The resolving of Marlu has left an acknowledged hole in the game (and on this board). If another Marluesque group forms, hopefully they'll take time to organize and not be quite so focused on witless slaughtering (youngest rat killers/afk hunters/gate killers) and do things with forethought and a valid purpose'premise. With the wide-open aspect Shattered presents, surely some clever person can come up with a group that can be hated without stomping on tender toes that are completely naked. There seem to be plenty of people willing to fight, and I think there's a doable way to accomplish it without costing what most are unwilling to pay. Now there are plenty of clerics, so figure it out, Ye creative bent minds! :club:

GS really is about who gets the first shot usually wins... About all you need to be is the fastest
