Yeah that was the first or second day, but it was subsequently determined that it is allowed. The only thing that is not allowed is blatant mechanics abuse, like changing your characters stats in order to have more health and an empath healing it. (Although to me that always seemed like a lot of work for a single blood transfer but eh whatever.)

Yeah, I don't see how that's any different than someone injuring themselves via some other easy means. I guess you can script the stat change and do it incredibly fast, but, still.

If I remember correctly, there was also an instance of someone (I'm thinking Cervina, but not sure) using the character manager to change skills around so that it resulted in health loss of one character for an empath to heal. Apparently such an act is considered a large enough bug abuse that they will put a stop to it.

Wasn't me. I didn't even know what Lich was for the first week that I played Shattered, and I didn't make my second account for Bleeder until I had read from the GMs on the official forums that doing so would be alright.

You only need to heal a bit more than 30 hit points a minute on average to maintain a fried state, that's pretty good.
