No, fuck that philosophy, and here is why:

It is far easier to warm yourself up than it is to cool down. I can put on more clothes, I can excercise, I can fuck or build a fire. Cooling off? Without A/C you are limited to swimming and being naked...which, while I am a fan of both, often aren't enough.

Yes. I melt in the heat. I've always been really bad with hot weather.

Heat just sucks in general. Saps all your energy, makes you dehydrated, makes fucking really uncomfortable, makes sleeping impossible. I'll take being slightly too cold to being too warm any day.

Hottest place I ever fucked was in a loft above this garage... had no real insulation to speak of, no cooling system, and it was a hot sunny day.. I swear it had to be 120 in there. We actually just gave up after a while. It was just too hot to move fast enough to finish, hah.

Our temp got up into 120's a few times, average has been in the 115's. Don't really feel a difference once it gets over 110 though.
