View Full Version : GOOD ponderings of the day.

Some say I'm negative and I guess that's so. So I figured for a change I'd post something nicer. Here are 10 good things in my head:

1) Cats. Man, if I didn't have cats, I'd blow my brains out. Good for hugging after a hard day. One of my cat's at my feet now purring and making sure I'm okay.

2) There's a place that makes their own ice cream a couple blocks down the road. Open seasonally but it's good ice cream and it's open now.

3) Hell, food's a lot better than it used to be. When I was a kid, there was like 1 Chinese place on the whole South Shore. "Ethnic" food meant you ordered a pizza, and the supermarkets sold nothing but bland shit.

4) Computers. You used to have to blow a few grand on encylopedias and almanacs to get the stuff you can get now online.

5) Today the Stanley Cup playoffs begin.

6) I had three squares today. Ham and swiss sandwich for breakfast with my coffee, beef stroganoff with a salad for dinner, and I made up a pizza just now for late night. Lot of people in this world don't eat that well in a week. There's a roof over my head and clothes on my back, and lots of folk don't have much of those either.

7) Saw in the paper today an article about a guy discharged from Iraq after he had his hands blown off. Now he's got to get a job to support his family and he's readjusting to no hands. Way I figure it my parts all work, mostly.

8) Isn't it a good feeling to take a long shower, get scrubbed, shaved, brushed and feel clean and new?

9) The Shield on FX is a damn good show. Not for everyone, but it frigging rocks.

10) John Ashcroft may be the supreme dickhead of the 21st century so far, but he's gotta go to his grave knowing he was in a Senate race and lost to a dead man. I take comfort in that.

I'm a reforming pessimist, myself.

My good thoughts for today: I'm making steps towards my goals, and I have a really wonderful person helping me on my way. My mom's getting out of the hospital, and it's sunny and beautiful outside.

So much for being positive. If you believe John Ashcroft to be the biggest 'dickhead' of the 21st century... then you obviously don't get out much.

Personally, I think there are MUCH bigger 'dickheads' out there.. Bin Laden and Saddam come to mind real quick.

1. Just ate a Popsicle. (I'm addicted)

2. Looks like rain... and I love a good thunderstorm.

3. Still in my tee-shirt that I slept in just because.

4. Don't have to do anything at all today if I don't want to. (thus the tee-shirt)

5. Going to make a huge Dagwood sandwich (vegetarian) later and I have all the fixings.

6. Trying to decide if I want to read, play GS, play with my Playstation2, or watch TV. (I'm never bored)

7. My daughter is cleaning out my car. (I knew I gave birth for a reason!)

8. Took a nap earlier. (yes... it's a rough day... j/k)

9. Just got a hug and a kiss from my daughter. Yay!

10. Going to eat another Popsicle.

Things that are good.

1. I'm going out to lunch with my best girl friend on Friday and possibly getting another tattoo.

2. Good books, especially ones you can't put down til you're done.

3. Original artwork, extra credit given if I can purchase it off of ebay or a website.

4. My two puppies who are so sweet and want to be with me all the time.

5. My sugar glider is downright adorable, even more so when he's eating.

6.. I'm going to see A Perfect Circle and The Mars Volta in concert, and I'm really excited about it.

7. I have the best family.

8. Grapes.

9. Reading tarot for people online, when they feel like they got something really good out of the reading.

10. I'm training to be a reiki master and it's really fun.

The end.

1. I'm getting married to a wonderful man who puts up with me like no one else.

2. I have a dog that loves me so much, he'll attack the person closest to me if I scream for help.

3. While I do have money problems, I'm not out on the street and I have a car with a full tank of gas in it. Even surviving on cereal and ramen is more than some people have.

4. I have a supportive mother, and even if it can be overbearing at times, I know it stems from caring.

5. I am blessed with free allergy medication, through doctor relatives. So while my car may be covered in a thick layer of yellow and silk worms, I can walk outside with ceasing to breathe.

6. I'm also thankful for Coca-Cola, my sweet, sweet addiction.

I'm glad I have a good addiction (Dr. Pepper), rather than some crappy addiction, like another, inferior soda.

Today has been a beautiful day. The sun is shining, the weather is warm, and nothing has gone wrong to ruin it!

Tomorrow, I plan to buy annuals for the deck planters and take my flokati out for a good washing and a lazy dry in the sun. :D

1. I'm still living in WA. Which blows ass.

2. I'm getting fucked over hardcore on my rotc paperwork cause i was gone for the most critical month in the application process. So I might have to wait a year to go to college. Which means i'll be spending that year in scenic Iraq.

3. They just lost my security clearence paperwork so I might not be able to try out for Delta force before i leave, which was plan B

4. I work with fucking idiots.

5. Everyone I don't work with but nonetheless have to interact with are idiots.

6. I spent my 21st birthday in the fucking swamps of shithole louisiana. *note If you call LA home, and your not from New Orleans then you suck dick. Sorry, but that places sucks.

7. My chances of ever having sex with Aaliyah are about shot (a lil late, but still bitter)

8. My grandfather is still dead, while abunch of degenerate pieces of shit still walk around.

9. While i'm sitting here bitching about the petty squabbles of my life, there are people out there with real issues who do not have the power to mitigate them and there is nothing I can do, no matter how hard I wish that i could.

10. oh..you said good things...well I guess its not raining yet.

Psh. If you were a real fan, you'd realize that Dr Pepper does not use a period after the abbreviation of doctor, at least not since circa '40s. I know this, because I live in Texas, birthplace and home of Dr Pepper, and I was forced to visit the Dr Pepper museum many times during childhood. HA. Or something. Ah, trivia, you are a sweet mistress.

Good thing:

Condi Rice testifies in front of the 9/11 Commission. The major networks are actually gonna broadcast it. People are interested in democracy again.

I decided today it was time for me to have a grown up bed. I have been on a old double bed for a long time and the springs suck. So I went out and bought a new queen size matt/boxspring and headboard/footboard which is being delivered tomorrow. 1100 bucks gone poof but I will sleep better tomorrow night so YAY. B'day present to myself. I can't wait.

Happy birthday, Mint darlin'! Too bad I can't help you set up your bed because:

a) Lifting a screwdriver's about all I can do right now, I'm so sick;

b) I'm 3000 miles away; and

c) I bet the god I believe in ain't your mother's.

Tonight I had fish and chips and brought some fish home for my cats.

And Hulk? Not only did I hug my cats, but I hugged my BUNNY.

(I got a dwarf rabbit. She's real cute and friendly. Yeah, it's a bunny. My daughter likes having a bunny around. She's 15, go with it.)

I got it for my daughter a few months ago. Cost $50 for the rabbit, $30 for a (used) cage, and maybe $25 more for food and shavings and stuff. We had a rabbit a couple years back so we saved a bowl and water bottle and stuff.

Good stuff...

1. It's officially spring time here, and the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. I can go to the castle park and drink and barbeque with my friends under these lanterns in front of a castle. It doesn't get much better.

2. I bought a new frisbee. It's nice to be outside.

3. I have spoken to my advisor in three weeks. I thought I was the only person who thought he was a dickhead. It turns out that everyone else does. I feel liberated.

4. Tonight, I will enroll for classes. If I don't get a job before August 29th, I will be on my way to my second degree.

5. My Dad sent me the first three episodes of The Sopranos. He sent me Deadwood, a bunch of Law and Orders, and two HBO boxing matches. He also got a good deal of comedy central on there as well. I'm pumped!

6. Last night K-1 was on TV. It was free to watch, no Pay Per View. This Turkish guy has a spinning back kick like straight out of a streetfighter video game. It was rediculous! He still lost though. Also-- never fight a Dutch guy who knows Muay Thai boxing.

7. A girl cleaned my entire apartment on Monday while I was at work.

8. I have a package coming tonight, and I don't know who it's from, but it will get here about 7.

9. Whenver I have a shit day, if I see Michiko's signature, I feel better. You rock Michiko!

10. I bought a digital camera. I can't get the software to work yet, but the camera is TINY! It's slightly smaller than my credit card, and less than an inch thick. It's 4 megapixel with a 3x optical zoom. It takes movies also.

So, that's 10 good things. Only one of them includes buying something too, (two if you count the frisbee, but it was like 4 bucks... I don't count that) which a damn good ratio.

Still sick and it ain't good, too much pain so I can't sleep.

Hey, but Bruins kicked ass last night, so that's good, right?

Besides which I just had some good coffee and gave my older cat some milk so she's sitting in my lap and purring up a storm.

Just finished a 4 exam, 1 paper, 2 quiz week. Nothing like the feeling after you stay awake all night studying for an exam, finishing it in half the time allotted, and walking out with people staring at you like you're nuts.

And f(date) tonight  Maybe it's the caffeine that's making me sound like a dork, but 100 points if you can figure out what that is.

1. 4 days off work! w00t!

2. Finding out they are starting a Masters Degree course in human rights at the university I did my BA.

3. Seeing my old school friends!

4. My ex boyfriend getting fat and looking ugly and asking me if I'm single! Mwhahaha!

5. Having money in my bank account to spend on shoes that I must have!

6. Having a new hair cut/colour. Back to stripes, I rock the hair world!

7. Moving house, aside from all the hassle of packing, its so exciting!
