...but a place where you can see a bunch of them listed, so you can see at a glance what's happening on a given day since Simu isn't posting as many of them on their calendar like they used to, especially the MHO/CHE events.

Nothing's up YET, but that'll be changing over the next few days as I go through and get the info again. But if you know of anything happening with the MHO/CHE you're involved with, PM me or send an email to UnofficialGS4Events@gmail.com with the details.

Thanks to Kyaloria and the Ladies of the Swan for keeping it up on their website: GS4 MHO/CHE Events Calendar (http://ladiesoftheswan.net/event_planning)

Is it posting anything different than what is on these calendars?

Since I can't seem to see these calendars--it wants to open a file in Microsoft Outlook and my version (that I stopped using years ago) doesn't want to cooperate--I couldn't tell you. If anyone knows of some sort of viewer for Outlook calendar files or some other way to open those links, I can give a better answer.

Grem's calendars also have the option to display CHE and MHO events, which I don't know if the official one will do. You can also import Grem's calendars into a gmail calendar and receive e-mail/text message reminders. They somehow or another import the various GS calendars and allow you to add them to your RSS feeder.

Since you're on gmail, Asile, copy the link from Grem's calendars, go to the calendar option in gmail, and use the "add by url" option to paste the link and you'll see whether or not your calendar idea is the same as Grem's.

Vivaldi said it, and I've verified it. The calendars you referenced pull from the play.net calendar, which no longer lists even half the CHE/MHO events that are running. If you look at that calendar, it seems like nothing's going on...when, in reality, there's something just about every damn day.

I swore like a sailor when the decision was made to limit the "official" calendar items for MHOs and CHEs, because that was the easiest way for groups to keep track of what else was happening when (to avoid possibly scheduling an event for a day/date/time when 5 other things are happening); it was great advertising for these groups and their events; and it was a great way for me, as a player, to see what as going on and what sort of things I could do with my time in GS (because reading through NEWS 4 in game can be a nightmare, and the headlines often don't list the dates/days/times of the events).

My other real hope for this calendar--which is exactly like one I'd done for Paupers while an officer there but it seems no one is keeping it up--is for MHOs and CHEs to notify me of planned events that just aren't up in the NEWS yet (or are even just tentative) so the other groups can know there's something in the works and not plan THEIR event for the same time. But since discussion of such a thing has happened before, with no action, I'm not holding my breath on this (though I'm still hoping!).

There's a calendar up on http://www.gsmeetinghalls.com/ but I don't see any activity on it. The site just got overhauled so maybe it isn't set up yet.

If it's automatic, it might be preferable to something you have to update by hand.

The problem I had while running Twilight was that unless you sent an e-mail in 3 months in advance, it never got on the calendar. Each CHE only gets 1 calendar posting per quarter without having to pay for it. The cost to posting more than once per three months was 1 influence point. You also can only get 1 influence point per month. Seemed kinda silly to me.

Mind you, my Database class was one of the hardest fucking things I went through since the shitty math classes I got placed in during my first try at college...but the way the system for announcing events is currently set up, I don't really see an easy way to have an automated system for pulling all the events for MHOs and CHEs in GS...especially the MHOs, as new ones are getting set up. Would I prefer automation? Sure. But not seeing a way for it, now that the calendar I've listed is pretty much set up, especially with the recurring meetings and events, any future updates will take me less than 5 minutes a week, if even that long. (For reference, when I saw that the dates for the Fortress Faire have been announced, putting it up with the bit of information currently available took me 90 seconds...which I did while I had a character draining exp.)

I greatly appreciate the GSMeetingHalls website, especially as I had to reference it to write up a NEWS item (making sure guidelines were the same for MHOs as CHEs), but as noted, the calendar didn't really have anything on it. When I asked about having my calendar attached to the Ladies of the Swan website, I noted that since having left Paupers, I've considered doing such a calendar just for myself, because I like knowing what's up so I don't miss an event I want to attend...just a personal quirk. I feel less like a loon by saying it's a benefit offered by a group I'm involved with :tumble:

Only a problem if you don't know how to plan in advance ;) (Says the one who spent 5 years plotting out things at least 6 months in advance because I was heavily involved in setting a class schedule. It drove everyone around me nuts.)

Oh, and because my primary concern at the moment is MHOs... Tier 1 MHOs only get ONE calendar event per year unless the event is part of a multi-day or group event. That's not too helpful with advertising to try to get people to events so the group can move up in status.

I am updating the number of calendar items you can request per quarter for no charge from 1 to 3. Officers, remember to email it to the gs4-che address at least 2 weeks in advance.
