Player info script

I was tossing around the idea of making a script that keeps info about certain characters..
Something like.. I'd enter. '.player (name)' and it would echo whatever info I put in about the player. I was fooling around with making a script, but I still can't do much in the scripting world. And it's late.
So if anyone has some spare time and would like to point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.
