Incredible shot to the eye penetrates deep into skull!

* Milamber drops dead at your feet!

Dozens of long thorns suddenly grow out from the ground underneath Maldric! Several of the thorns jab into him!
... hits for 18 points of damage!

Great shot penetrates thigh and shatters bone!
He is knocked to the ground!

Strike to wrist severs right hand!

* Maldric drops dead at your feet!

how come we don't get to see the Mordechai killshot?

I'll give you this.

... 30 points of damage!
Well aimed strike shatters bone in right arm!

* Mordechai drops dead at your feet!

The deep blue glow leaves Mordechai.
Mordechai seems to lose some focus as his eyes narrow and shift momentarily to one side.
The dim aura fades from around Mordechai.
Mordechai's movements no longer appear to be influenced by a divine power as the spiritual force fades from around his arms.
The faint blue glow fades from around Mordechai's hands.
The light blue glow leaves Mordechai.
The shimmering aura fades from around Mordechai.
Mordechai appears less confident and fearless.
Mordechai loses the flickering unbridled energy surrounding him.
Mordechai appears less secure.
The powerful look leaves Mordechai.
The dully illuminated mantle protecting Mordechai begins to falter, then completely fades away.
Mordechai appears less battle-ready as a soft glow dissipates from around his form.
A crimson mist bleeds out from Mordechai's exposed skin.
Mordechai begins to breathe less deeply.
Mordechai seems a bit less imposing.

Nah, I'll let you continue to run all the way to and from EN every night just to kill a few people who are AFK scripting.

Thanks for the offer, though!

Maybe one of these days you can stick around instead of hightailing it back to EN when all the mean men wake up.

That'd be something to see.

I'm gonna put this in context. Pretty sweet actually. He found out where I rest somehow. (I had been resting, hidden, in a super node). My foolishness resting outside of town:

The doorman nods to you.

Dark flagstone floors extend in a gleaming river of darkness beneath thick, handwoven crimson rugs in this spacious foyer. To the north, banners of purple, blue, green, and yellow flutter from a balcony railing some fifty feet overhead. A granite archway sweeps along the length of the western wall, and a magnificent fieldstone staircase curves upward to the east. You also see a veniom-worked carved modwir wastebasket and an ancient felwood credenza with some stuff on it.

Thats 4 out of their 16 or 17 characters. The majority of them are there 24/7. What I was implying will probably become more apparent when their army of empaths hits cap while youre still in your 60s.

Exaggerations are the best--a good roflstomper for the day. Pandin and others have shut down most of the Marlu Clan members during the day that actually go out to hunt.

Not much can be done to your empaths who sit at the table and nerve bot xp all day, so your point is moot.

The correct point is that the active Marlu members that can actually be touched through game mechanics have been stopped during the day and whiny babies like Little Cleetus are angry about it.

You babies would quit the game if your little table orgy could be reached...but to gloat about not dying to a game impossibility shows you guys are lamesauce.

P.S. And thanks for responding to my new title for you...Little Cleetus. heh heh.

Area controlled by Marlu: The Landing/Solhaven/Icemule

This.

We run the show. We dictate how they play.

They kill us every now and again, but the difference between us and them: We dont mind dying, this is kinda what we came for. PvP.

And who says we dont offer spells and rescues? We've rescued plenty on our pay list. Thats part of the service. They say 'Hey, dead in x room, can you come help?' and if we can we do.

that has been proven wrong in shattered. reverse-kill ganking happens all the time. also group combat mechanics are complex and not based on any one person's latency. it is much more fun than Prime.

In total? Im not sure. I know, personally, from pvp kills this week Ive spent abouttttt 100k on potions. I cannot speak for everyone else.

But usually we get rescued when we die.

As to "Why does money matter?"

2 things: In actuality? It really doesn't...but neither does anything else in the game other than the 'Am I having fun?' test. But I dont think thats what you meant so I will try to address your question in the spirit it was asked:

Controlling more money than others, as a group, will allow us to dominate auctions. Our members will get what they want and we, as a group, will be able to deny auction quality items to those we dont want to have them. It also helps pay for potions, chronomages, incidentals.

Again, its not a huge thing. But we're enjoying making it!

The fun in GS PvP is mostly outside of the actual 10-15 seconds of combat. Its organizing, finding the enemy, trapping and catching them. Also the politicking and diplomacy, striking deals and what not...and the crap-talk can be enjoyable.

GS PvP isnt very balanced, but...its what we have to work with so its what we work with.

Mord's numbers are correct.

We have two different money pools. Extortion pool and box pool. Judging from the fact that the pickerbot gives me my cut from one and Mord gives me my cut from the other and multiplying that by the number of people in each pool...

We usually split OVER 2 mil in extortion each week. And we get millions more apiece from the box pool.

STFU if you don't know what you are talking about.

Extortion money... that's hilarious.

Let me guess... girls who play empaths pay it?

Those dobrems must be rich! Since only 3 people are allowed to hunt them. I'm gonna have to stop by, what time is tea, ladies?

I bet you get all the chicks.

Prep 1030. Cast.

wut group mechanics?

rolls, spellups, song of noise, offensive use of minor sanctuary, surviving long enough to prep 1030 and cast in the first place, and everyone else in the room prepping their 1030s and casting. Gemstone combat is not the simplified first person to attack that everyone says it is. there are a lot of factors and just plain luck that very commonly cause things to not go as you planned. the only time you can say it is always the first person to attack is when the other person is afk, and even that isnt guaranteed because of afk scripts built to kill instead of just slam.

No, you really can just walk in and aoe everyone in the room down in one shot.

Cast 435 during the next Prime invasion and see for yourself, for example.

I agree with this part. But if that guy on the first page wasn't crying about getting killed, I'm a chocolate snowman.

Read it again:

Nah, I'll let you continue to run all the way to and from EN every night just to kill a few people who are AFK scripting.

Thanks for the offer, though!

Maybe one of these days you can stick around instead of hightailing it back to EN when all the mean men wake up.

That'd be something to see.

You seem to know more about what I write than I do, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on how any of the above could be construed as crying or whining. In fact, it's quite the opposite.

p.s. Quit yer bithin'

with song of noise and/or minor sanctuary active? 'splain? we're talking group pvp tactics on Shattered. There is no I WIN button. if youre running around in a group pvp environment aoeing everyone and killing them 100% of the time they are either afk or stupid for not anticipating and countering the attack.

I didn't say you were crying, so I don't see why you feel the need to attack me! I just said that you were crying, or that I am a chocolate snowman. Why do you immediately assume that I am not, in fact, a chocolate snowman? Guilty conscience, or blinded by tears?

riiiiight... which means you are doing more than running into a room and killing everyone mindlessly with one spell, which was my point. What exactly are you trying to argue here?

I wasnt arguing, just stating that it's not fool proof
a sorc 10 levels over your pos bard, breaks your sanct and implodes your clan is what i'm getting at.

Those are room specific, unless you only plan on sitting in 1 room and not moving or hoping you can get your renewal for noise and/or sanct down fast enough when you move to a new room. That's cool though.

You might as well have started talking about your pubes for all the impact it made on the discussion. It would have been more relevant.

most group pvp in Shattered is taking place in one room. one group sits in a room and people attack them. They aren't Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon flying around from room to room non-stop swinging swords at each other if that was what you were implying group pvp regularly is?

Why don't you blow it out your ass Mr. "I go into a node with Song of Power running and explode everyone's face". You've never actually done this to me, but as a bard, I'm sure you've done this so shut you face!

Fucking bards.
