View Full Version : Speculation: Wade & Bosh vs. Amar'e & LBJ?

If the superfriends trio of Wade, Bosh and LBJ don't arrive in Miami (Bosh and Wade have confirmed, for those unaware), King James's next obvious move could see him making the most famous arena in the world his next home. With the signing of to Amar'e, the Knicks have become THE frontrunner to host the best player on the planet in the coming season.

With that said: Which pairing would do more: The constantly underrated, agile, finesse pairing of Wade and Bosh, or the brute strength and explosive ability granted by the James - Amar'e pairing?

You mean, excepting the bulls.

I don't think any Knicks fans expect LeBron to still show up. It was a fun pipe dream but c'est la vie. At this point I'd rather they assemble a decent team around Amar'e and hope that Melo doesn't sign an extension and bring him in next year.

Amar'e is *way* over-rated. The Knicks are completely depending on finding a Steve Nash -like point guard to run the Knicks offense to get any significant offensive production out of him, as there is little defensive qualities to quantify. Edited to add that Knicks will need to try to get Melo next year, as Sean pointed out, which means LBJ would be "wasting" a year of his prime.

We will probably hear LBJ announce on his 1-hour ESPN special tomorrow night (Thurs @ 9pm apparently, with advertising proceeds to go to Boys&Girls Club, class act there) that he will be heading to either Miami or Chicago.

How is New York a 'pipe dream'? Dallas or New Jersey were pipe dreams, New York is beyond plausible.

I see LeBron having a much higher respect for MSG than following in Jordan's shoes. While a lot of people seem to place a lot of emphasis on playing with Rose and Noah, or changing his jersey to play with Chicago, I don't see why or how he would bother. LeBron and Rose is a pretty rough pairing when considering their style of play, and Noah is irrelevant in the big picture (as he's too frail and generally pathetic to accomplish major stardom anyway).

LeBron + Amar'e + MSG > LeBron and Rose fighting over who brings the ball up every possession.

I can't even imagine a scenerio in which he would go back to the graveyard that is Cleveland, at this point. That team is a laughing stock without him, and will not be a championship team even if he goes back anyway.

Wow. That's like the stupidest basketball post I've ever seen. Congrats.

Amar'e has had extreme surgery on his knees - he's the frail one, not Noah (and is 3 years and 12k minutes older, to make matters worse). LeBron loves big guys who play with energy and defense (c.f. Hickson, Varejao) - Amar'e is neither. LeBron was willing to let Mo Williams set up plays - he will clearly tolerate letting an actual good point guard play point. The only things the Knicks have going for them are NYC and D'Antoni, and neither are huge advantages over Chicago and Thibedeau. Wade is somewhat underrated. Bosh is significantly overrated.

TLDR version: everything you said was wrong, often spectacularly so.
