I cant get Tsorans spreadsheet to work in Ubuntu's excel equivalent. So, this is what I have for stats for a dwarf paladin. Has anyone come up with anything better? Set for cap.

Maximized stats for a Dwarf Paladin
CO DE DI LO IT ST* AG IF WI* AU
GI's 30 17 28 10 15 35 15 18 28 15
Initial Placement 49 78 58 88 82 30 69 77 58 69
Stats at Level 100 100 100 100 100 100 100 91 100 100 91

* denotes prime stat
Except for stats in black, stats of the same color have the same growth rate, thus their initial placement is interchangeable.
(Prime stats must remain at least 30, however.)

Same site, usin' maximizer

Yeah, no way Im starting out with 30 ST. Since its prime stat, won't that royall fuck TP's?

Fuck maximizing. Do bounties and earn enough for a fixstat at cap.
1) Beef up prime stats
2) Strength, agi/dex, logic, con in that order of priority (if not already included above, obviously).
3) Next, some conditional priorities
CoL -> Aura
Warrior -> Influence
4) Dump extra points wherever you see fit.
5) ???
6) Profit

^^ Dat's some great advice right der! But when ya fixstat, keep my list handy.

an' not dat it matters a whole lot, but dat's a 49 STR, not a 30. GI is first line.

Its personal preference, but I went for max stats, not points.

But for the first 29 days I went with whatever stats got me through the fastest. So take that low starting strength and see what it would be after 30 some levels. It looks like almost everyone hit 30-32 in the 30 day period of time.

It may still mess you up training point wise, would just depend on what your plan is and what you are willing to pass up until post cap.

I'm a big fan of TPs pre-cap (not that I've ever been to cap). My thinking is that by the time I get to 80+ I'll have developed a script to do foraging bounties for me which should net some nice AFK bounty points. Fix stats should be a lot easier to gather in Shattered due to the scripting.

How will you guarantee you'll get foraging bounties, though? Just have the script keep trying every 15 minutes? Or is there a trick?

I'm confused by the TPs thing.

So if I go for max stats right now, won't I eventually gain more TPs by 100 than someone who did not do max stats? Is the argument for people not to do max stats is to get the TPs early (but wont they have less TPs overall in the end?).

The TPs you gain at 100 will be more than the TPs gained at 100 by the other person, but the other person will have banked enough extra so the total TPs earned is higher. For example a warriors STR grows very fast, so setting it for max at 100 would mean setting it low at the beginning, but since str counts double towards TPs, even if it was 100 at level 100, you'd have less TPs than the person who started it at 100, and had it counting for double every single level.

So it doesn't recalculate TPs for you? What you earn from level 1 to level 2 is it and so forth?

EDIT: But if that other person uses a fixstats, then doesn't it recalculate everything from the beginning?

Correct, unlike the cost of double training, those points are not regained when you level up.

Since this thread is already here, anyone wanna give me some growth and/or max TP stats for a half elf warmage and a dwarf brawl/shield bane cleric? I forgot all about the 30 days about to be here.

I edited my post. But it does recalculate if you use a fixstats potion right? So a person who went for tps will loose advantage if they use the potion later to perfect their stats.

Am I right on that?

... I hate you.

Here's a suggestion as a good middle ground, tweak as needed.

|0|30|50|70|100
STR|86|90|93|96|100
CON|82|88|92|95|100
DEX|65|80|87|94|100
AGL|78|86|90|94|100
DIS|70|78|83|88|95
AUR|64|79|89|96|100
LOG|70|82|88|95|100
INT|43|62|72|80|90
WIS|73|82|87|92|100
INF|29|52|62|70|80
Now if you're COL you'll probably want to bump AUR up a bit, I'd take it out of DIS (although you have 9 points in INF to take as well). Not perfect ending stats, but they're livable, and with fixstats it's reasonable.
That wasn't just 3 seconds of my time you know..

... I'm sorry I can't lie, I love you.

Indeed, so what's being advocated (and I'm a fan of) is finding a good middle ground stat set to use to get you to cap, and a bit further into it, and then when you've got enough postcap exp to say you're willing to trade X TPs for Y stats, you get a fixstat and do so.

Could you help me with that like you did for Methais?

You're wrong then. It counts double for warriors. The ones that count double are any profession's PRIME stats. Which for warriors are STR and CON.

AUR and DIS count in bot' PP and MP. From Simu's site -

Determining Training Points Based on Stats

Training points are determined using the following equations:

Physical TP
(25 + (((Aura + Discipline)/2 + Strength + Constitution + Dexterity + Agility)/20))

Mental TP
(25 + (((Aura + Discipline)/2 + Logic + Intuition + Influence + Wisdom)/20))

Try again. I said the STR stat for a warrior. Primary stats count twice.

Training points are points characters acquire as they gain experience. A character uses the training points to train up in their various skills.

There are two types of training points. Mental training points and physical training points.

They are calculated by the following formula:

MTPs = 25 + ((LOG + INT + WIS + INF + ((AUR + DIS) 2) 20)
PTPs = 25 + ((STR + CON + DEX + AGI + ((AUR + DIS) 2) 20)

Note: A character's prime requisites are doubled for the above formulas.

I won't be able to do it right now, at the time I had a little free time on my hands. I just use something like tsoran's spreadsheet and "count backwards" with it. make it so you can view level 100, put in a stat and lower it til it's the lowest it can go to be 100 at 100. Then find stats you know you want to be 100 sooner, adjust them up, take points out of what you want to tank. After you've got your numbers I generally like to try adjusting them up or down 1 or two points to see how that effects things, because of the way the interval formula works, sometimes you can find a free point or two. For stats you've reduced, look to see if it ends at an even number, two 89s will be worse than a 90 and an 88, because most of the time it's the bonus that matters, not the stat.

I approve of this post. This is something very simple that a surprising number of people do not consider when planning their characters.
