The longest ever (on right now if you have ESPN3 on your computer), they were tied at the end of 5 sets so went to tie break games and the score is currently 53 games to 52 games. Incredible. The game was already stopped yesterday and restarted today and if looks like if it lasts another 30 minutes they'll have to call it again and wait until tomorrow.

I'm listening at work now, it's nuts

Isner looks like he just ran a marathon in the Sahara. Mahut looks like he just got out of the shower and applied hair gel. The difference is incredible.

Honestly, how can you play a 9 hour tennis match and not have a single drop of sweat? Isner's shirt is soaked through entirely.

Honestly, how can you watch tennis and not be surprised when people confuse you with Drew2.

Because Drew2 would be sitting on the racquet ...the fat end.

I wouldn't wonder that at all if I was in this match. Fuck that, let us play it out.

From Paul Kedrosky (http://paul.kedrosky.com/archives/2010/06/data_fun_with_i.html)'s website.

Today's (and yesterday's (and tomorrow's (and for all I know next week's))) never-ending Wimbledon tennis match between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut isn't over, and it's one for the record books. The current line score is 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-7, 59-59 -- and no, the fifth set isn't scored in decipoints. Here are some stats I ran on the match, all of which will change tomorrow once action resumes:
Total elapsed time: 9h 58m
Actual playing time: ~1h 30m
Heartbeats/player: ~83,720
Total points played: 877
Distance covered/player: 7.9km (4.7mi)
Calories burned/player: ~7,500 (4 White Castle Chocolate Shakes -- Large)
[Energy/distance calculations based on Fernandez, et al., Intensity of tennis match play, Br J Sports Med. 2006 May; 40(5): 387–391.]

Ended today (about 20 minutes ago), 70-68 to Isner, 11h5m, most aces combined, most aces by a single player (Isner 112), most games in a match.

The fifth set was longer than the longest match ever played....by almost two hours.

Jeez.

The worst part is the Wimbledon organizers were so giddy about it, that they held them on the court for like 15 minutes afterwards to give them mementos and force words out of them - and then made them take a picture next to the scoreboard with the referee.

Serious question here. Was the game timed using RT or VT?

I don't know what that means.

I don't know what that means. Please go read the 7 dollar gallon of gas thread and catch up. You owe it to yourself.

Been trying to avoid it like the plague.

Dude you NEED to read that shit. If it was icecream it would be an awesome sundae covered in epic sauce, and sprinkled with chopped win.

TheE. You need to go rub your nose in that thread. Epic thread of all PC threads. It smells nasty but tastes like chicken.

Just a warning, it starts out boring... about gas or something. It really comes into it's own in the second act.

You need to TheE. If I had to compare that thread to something I would say it is like going to a innocent looking site like www.7$gas.com and when you get there it's a BDMS Kinky, Real Time Sex Site. It's not what you intended but you still enjoy it cause it's lawlsy.

Ya, that's what it is.

I just want to thank all of you for pointing out that thread. It was entirely worth every minute.

Thumps up, would recommend, A+++++++++ service.

Seriously, I got my LULZ.

Oh, and to answer your question Anticor, it was in RT.

You kinda had a feeling that whoever won was gonna be fucked for his next match.
