I'm not betting either way. None of the outcomes would surprise me...although Algeria going through would be a bit of a surprise, I guess.

I love how you managed to quote this before with a little heart, and now this. <3 you're bipolar anger.
I generally think that the more threads there on a single topic, the stupider the threads are. If there is a single thread with lots of talking, that's usually a less stupid thread.

It was a good save, but I don't think he struck it cleanly. I think the ball bounced before even getting to the keeper. I've seen him bury that same shot.
Also his timing seemed off for a few headers in the game against US too. I'm not knocking the guy, I just think maybe he's still burnt out from being THE guy at united all season and that ankle injury.

Rooney's strike was deflected. It would have been in the side net.
And is Howard getting most of the credit for the US's goal today? That was an incredibly thoughtful (and precise) ball he played wide right to Donovan. Within seconds of a save, we had the ball in the back of the net on the other half of the pitch. Kudos to Landon for trailing the play, but that goal is the result of Tim Howard being an all-world goalkeeper.

I've only seen one angle during a replay on the post game show where it shows the actual throw. Most of the time it clips to a zoomed in shot of one of the algeria players.
This one shows where the ball lands at least.

The small time Italian team is getting blown out by Barca until they manage to score a goal. The entire crowd of like 40k goes instantly silent except for this Italian dude 4 rows back from me who immediately jumps up screamed GOALL!!!!!!!! The 2nd free kick goal was absolutely BRILLIANT. The announcers were even talking about their main guy standing like Rinaldo (not uber familiar with what Rinaldo's stance looks like compared to others) and the defenders just stood there watching the ball.
