Thinking about coming back and have been reading the PC boards (never was a fan of the officials). What's new within, oh, the past year and a half-ish besides the "shattered" option?

Dunno why but I'm thinking of playing again too

Took a break in 2005 (played since aol) and now about to reactivate my account

WoW is dead to me.

I think you'll enjoy it. I came back a couple days ago after spending almost the same amount of time away from the lands. I'm having a blast getting the hang of everything again even if I'm only level 4 currently (I liquidated my previous account). It's slower, but it's still a lot of fun.

Since Warden quit it seems like there has been a burst of new dev.

Since Warden quit it seems like there has been a burst of new dev.

Despite all the claims by GM's that Warden supposedly approved all this dev before he left, the end result is that there has been a good bit of much needed dev after Warden left.

I'm back now. It's been almost a year, and I have so much crap I bought before I quit that I desperately need to unload.

Later, though. So lazy am I!

I ponder returning myself from time to time. Especially when I find myself frustrated with WoW, AoC or LotRO. I like pvp but AoC's hacks make pvp in that game frustrating. The lack of pvp in LotRO makes that game frustrating. The dumbing down of the risk/reward in WoW got old a long time ago.

On top of that none of those games really pulls me in, the players by and large are what are distracting. The crappy oog/ooc names, the rants, flames and trolls on the chat and lack of staying IC in public. I miss role-playing I guess.

So yeah, at times I ponder returning to GS, though its been I think almost three years now since my account has been active. I will say that I really set myself up for "not" ever returning. When I got my current system I didn't move "any" of the old GS/DR info to it. I dont have any of my highlights, notes, histories, item notes, mechanic notes etc. Basically a shitload of info and things I always felt I needed to play.

Anyhow I tend to think of it as an abstract fantasy, I doubt I'll ever return even though Warden is gone now. I like him as a person but I totally had major issues with the direction that he took the game, it differed wildly from the game I first started playing and made many characters I had harder and harder to play. He had a very narrow field of vision and was unmovable by and large.
