Doing lesser orcs, even the 2nd or 3rd swing took a huge chunk out of my defensive DS and splat I went.

Anyone know what DS FoF removes exactly? Does it remove EBP or is it just a strait reduction? Are you less likely to be so drastically effected if your DS is mostly spell DS?

Force on Force is a system that lowers a character's defensive stance (http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/STANCE_%28verb%29) upon being attacked by multiple opponents. Each opponent lowers the character's stance by 25% until the character is treated to be in a fully offensive stance. Beyond 4 opponents, the defending character's defensive strength (http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/Defensive_strength) is further lowered, making Force on Force a very deadly thing to any character not trained in Multi Opponent Combat. However, a character who is trained in this skill requires more opponents to have the same effect. These offset benefits used to be gained at ranks 10, 25, 45, and every 25 ranks thereafter; however, GameMaster (http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/GameMaster) Coase rolled in a set of changes in May of 2008 which updated the ranks required to offset an opponent. See the "Summary of Benefits" chart at the bottom of this article page for the most up-to-date effects of training.

If anything, I'd say that growl increased the ghoul master's AS, just like some trolls do. If it was a warcry-type thing, it should have some sort of messaging about success/failure, die roll, outcome, whatever.

Edit: Maybe I'm wrong about the AS, but there were other growls that didn't drop his DS. I think he's right, it probably was just flavor messaging.

You're given a grace period of a second or two moving through rooms before you experience FoF. After that grace period, FoF fucks you as if you had been there the entire time and the accumulated number that attacked immediately takes effect on the next swing. Hence, you got fucked after a second or two of just arriving there.
