So as was pointed out to my over LNet, the www.heroengine.com website has been updated just in time for E3.

Apparently they offer an abbreviated HeroEngine license (called HeroCloud) now. It costs 5k + 15% revenue and offers HeroEngine services on a much lower scale (25 DEV max, must be run off a Simu setup server, etc).

Interesting that they keep coming up with ways to market this thing. I guess Star Wars Old Republic wasn't enough.

Because the rest of those are fucking garbage? Barring a sweet Bethesda/Zenimax title, the rest of those won't see daylight.

So yea... 25 people from the PC should buy a license and create graphical GS. That may be interesting. 200 bucks a piece. Charge 5 bucks per month... badabing

That doesn't matter to Simu. They already sold the licenses.

Because you want your product to be tied to awesome shit for marketability instead of just regular shit for poopability.

Still doesn't matter to Simu if those games "won't see daylight."

I doubt this is the type of deal they cut with Bioware.

I have to assume Simu does its homework before licensing the engine. Otherwise they're selling it to anyone who wants it. Either way they get more money to not spend on its MUDs.

Bioware likely has way over 25 developers. The license they sold Bioware likely multimillion.

Which is likely a drop in the bucket compared to what 15% of their revenue will be with the star wars game.

Bump, because every time I saw the title of the last thread in here, I lost. It got annoying.

So who's gonna buy a Cloud license and make a graphical GS?

Don't tempt me ;P Wonder how quick Simu would sue for copyright infringement on a graphical Landing ;P Maybe I should fire up Blender or Max and make one for shits and giggles... lol

Isn't the engine getting a little dated at this point anyway? It's been in development for like 10 years, and Hero's Journey never came out.
