Rub? no...
Cut? no...
Mark? no...

I have a scriber boulght from Whittlin's Wonders (EG 04) and I can't get it to do anything except tell me that I can't get a feel for how it works.

Do I need to practice with it awhile?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Probably have to be a ranger or something stupid like that.

yes I couldnt get my (bough) scriber to work either, even though it has my name on it, but give me 5 minutes, I'm going to fletch a few shafts and see if you have to scribe them during fletching, if so, that sucks.

I've tried throughout the whole fletching process and no success

They might be scribers for wands and rods.

I bought a scriber from some other merchant awhile back. It's like an imbeddible or something if i remember correctly. Had a pretty decent spell in it but nothin special.

If it's for ranged weapons.. it's like Tayre said above. You need to be done with fletching the arrow prior to scribing it.

Only the syntax would be "rub my scriber on my arrow" rather than shaft.

The scribers at the last EG didnt work because of one of two reasons.

i) they were wand/rod scribers so wouldnt work on arrows.
ii) they were ranger-only scribers.

No idea if that applies to these ones as I havent tried them, but try all posiibilities when getting them to work :)

I have tried to scribe arrows using the bough at different stages in the scribing process, with no luck. The scriber has my named etched into it.

It was bought at Whittler's Wonders

In the velvet case you see a sharpened willow bough.

This is the item.

My only conclusion is it is 1) only for rangers or 2) it is not for arrows.

I will check my master fletcher ranger to see if it works with him, and get back to you tonight. Will also test it on wands he makes.

I have also bought 3 other scribers (with images of random things) These were bought to play with and test.

Alright the factual information regarding the Scribers are.... That it is a wand scriber.... only usable by Rangers.

Could they be bugged?

Seems kinda stupid to scribe a wand, since people tend to not chuck their wands all over the place, while arrows go everywhere.

To my knowledge, all scribers sold previous to the EG were for scribing your name into arrows (except for the buggy initial release where you could scribe much more than arrows.)

At some point Simu might figure out not all archers are fucking tree-huggers.
