defending vs. the ambush

apologies if this is a redundant / troll thread

When I was playing Deron a month or so ago, a rogue snuck in and I saw him, and when he ambushed me obviously I didn't get that big DS pushdown.

So is that it? You gotta see the rogue or whoever come in, or set up the stalk, in order to avoid the DS pushdown?

I'm assuming perception ranks help with this.

Any comments? Or did I answer my own question?

Perception helps against the pushdown, along with factors like level. Even at 3x Perception, however, rogues have stated that Ithzir can push them to full offensive via ambush. I don't know if anyone ever did PvP testing regarding the effects of ambush. Lucos is likely fully 3xed.

yeah i'm fully 2x in perception now with a perception enhancing item so we'll see how I do vs the griefers

I've found that the best defense against "griefers" is not making a target of yourself by:
(1) Being an idiot here or in the various chats
(2) If really need to be an idiot, make sure no one knows who your characters are
