Haven't gotten many foraging bounties so I haven't had a chance to test this. If, for example, you got a bounty to forage for torban leaf in the Lyserian Hills. Are you forced to forage it from the location the healer tells you to get it from, or could you forage it from another location and it'd still work?

If you forage the herb from the wrong area and try to give it to the hebalist, they will say that its from the wrong area. They need a specific torban leaf that grows only in the Lyserian Hills. If you need herb maps, try http://www.virilneus.com/roomdata/room.php

Thanks. Any idea if the forage bounty herb/location combinations are static? In other words, is the torban leaf bounty in the Landing always in the Lyserian Hills? Trying to understand if there's consistency in the foraging bounty assignments or if it's random herb/location each time a new one is assigned.
Thanks for the help.

Not static--I've gotten the same herb/flower from two different places. It may be static if you take into account level range and where they would send you, but the landing has a ton of areas they send to, so I'm not sure that would work either.

It's not random, but adjusted for your character's level. My level 18 cleric may get tasked to collect a forageable from the Lyserian Hills, while my level 60ish ranger might be tasked to collect the same thing from the Krag Slopes, and my friend's 80'ish wizard might be tasked to collect it from the Hidden Plateau.

Right, for example, the same character might be tasked to collect a sassafras leaf from Stronghold, Lyserian Hills, Upper Trollfang, or the Graveyard, since each of these areas has critters around the same level.

Hmm...so to write script a script to handle it you'd need to have a list of all bounty forageable herbs and all potential locations w/room #s. Is there foraging bounty specific info available like this or is virilneus the best spot to look?

You may in time find that some herb bounties take you to the same area quite often. I have been doing bounties in the Keen for about 5-6 levels since it was the only place near the temple that had an environment for plant life. Also, you may come across some bounties that you cannot find the herb listed on a map. It's a lot of hard work, but if you have ranger maps you can figure out where something is able to grow. I was happy to find sprig of holly in the emerald forest when I was foraging for a younger character.

I know there is a few scripts out there for foraging. Like the Universal Foraging Script. I have not used any of them, but will be writing my own once I finish my fletching scripts. I would really just make a foraging script that would need input variables, and a variable for the room id, but that's me using Psinet. Any ideas, I'd be glad to hear them.

Fletching scripts shouldn't take more than a couple hours so I'll assume your already done with them and have started working on the foraging script.

Started in the fletching last night, but you know that 8-6:30 job place I got to go to. Well got about 2 hours left then I can get to finish my script. I'll work on the foraging script about 9pm when I can get some moonflowers.

Does anyone have a list of all possible locations that the taskmaster may ask you to go to forage something? I'm sure they change depending on the town you're in, so just Landing for now would be good. Is it more or less every main area/section outlined in Tsoran's maps: Lyserian Hills, Old Mine Road, and so on?

More or less, but several of the Landing locations do not match Tsoran's maps all that well or do not appear on them at all. (The rooms are there but the location name isn't) You will find it a lot easier to put this together for some other town.

Huh. Which town would you suggest? Only familiar with the Landing, but may move out to a different location soon. Maybe Solhaven for a bit.

Doing bounties in the Landing always drives me away from there. Its probably not to bad once you get to level 30 or 40 and the choice of areas simplifies.
Solhaven probably works fine. Just make sure you have an efficient movement script.
The only problem I have ever had foraging in Vaalor is that the new area isn't on the foraging maps.
Avoid Icemule beyond about level 15 until about level 35 or 40, because it has a lot of locations with a very wide range of critters in them and you get asked to forage stuff from under the noses of undead 20 levels over you, or to travel through icy areas with critters 20 levels over you to get to where you need to forage. Pinefar is extremely easy though.
Same with RR as Vaalor. The only problem I have ever had there is the lack of foraging maps for the new areas.

The new areas in RR are easy, everything is either in the garden outside the citadel, or on the path between the fog and before you enter the marsh keep.

Not exactly--the Keep has 7 different climate/terrain profiles, with three of them being in one room only, and 1 found only in two rooms. In 10 levels of foraging bounties there I've been sent to 6 of the 7 profiles for herbs. If anyone is going to be doing a significant amount of foraging there I've got a .pdf of the map with numbered rooms and the climate/terrains listed. I think someone sent it to Virilneus once in hopes that he'd throw it on Room Data but I never heard anything.

This may be useful: http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/Foraging_locations
It's a running list of all the foragables people have been tasked to get for the Adventurer's Guild with climate/terrain found in, and the amount of bounty point awarded.
Ryvicke, I'll put it on Krakiipedia if you want, and have a link to it from that foraging locations (I should really start adding to that, I do foraging tasks like woah...add the silvers too, you think?) as well as the Marsh Keep page (or you could do it yourself! It's a wiki! It's super fun and nice to have the information you want there for next time!!)
Actually, whether or not you want it publicly displayed, I want that foraging map very badly. I usually just SENSE the rooms when I get a foraging task, but I decided to have my empath stick around after the Grawood and SENSE isn't quite as useful for her. I could trial and error it (if it isn't this watery room that is only in one spot, it's the other watery room that's in only one spot) but that wastes a valuable foraging slot for the next guy.
Post it here! Post it post it!
