Colonoscopy

I'm getting a colonoscopy next Thursday.

Aside from being required to have explosive diarrhea the day before and getting anally raped during the procedure, has anyone gone through one of these?

Any advice?

What's there to tell? He went to get something shoved up his ass, while he was drunk. He's a talkative happy drunk, not a mean one. It was a funny time.

Clear liquid diet day before, night before some yucky lemon-lime tasting stuff that you have to drink, plan on spending a good 3 hours in the can, bring your laptop, a good book, some ginger ale (to wash the taste of the Moviprep or whatever is prescribed out). Play GS and get it over with.

Morning of, nothing by mouth, go to where it's being done, they'll give you an IV, wheel you in, happy stuff in the IV, and when you say 'When are you going to start' you'll be in recovery. Honest fact? Never felt a thing, and had no anal rapage discomfort. Nothing I'd do for a date night, but nice to know you don't have colorectal cancer, too.

They gave me Midazolam (Versed)

I remember nothing

I hear when they brought me out, I screamed for orange juice, they gave me some, and I poured it on myself. I'm certain it's a cover story for what really happened. It's amazing how your mind struggles to fill in details when some heavy drug like Versed has your brains tied behind your back.

Advice - I had the pills for the prep which I recommend.
