It should advertise, but where is the difficult question. A text medium doesn't make for an eye catching ad and the specialized nature of the game doesn't lend itself easily to targetted advertising. Using it to teach English is a poor idea since the English used in GS is part genre and often atrocious. I assume you mean Prime because Shattered is...well, let's just say its not a shining example of the English language. Arabic, sure, but I bet that would be a heck of a lot of work and I'm not sure the payoff would be worth it (in terms of new players).
I would find it interesting though, if I was 30 years younger the 2 languages I'd want to learn would be Arabic and Chinese, there's a lot of money to be made through those languages. My degree is in history and those two are the hottest fields going right now.

GS is dead. Its that simple. With the prices of MMORPGS, on-line console play, internet flash games and stuff its too much competition. Even if Simu charged $5 a subscription, they may get a few more subscriptions, but my guess is that they would all be past customers.

Text based role playing is a niche. It’s time has come and gone. Only diehard cusp of the internet generation x'ers want to play it anymore.

Simu is doing the right thing by creating a pseudo Harry Potter/internet meme/Sorority Life on Facebook. Creating one of those games gives you access to 350 million people. If 1% of those people spend $1 on your game you’ve made 3.5 million.

How is the English language dead? It is reasonable to say it is the language of international business and scholarship. I have never heard of a dream of teaching the entire planet to speak English, excepting perhaps a few nuts on Fox News.

But things change, it was only about 2 centuries ago that French was the international language of commerce. Few then would have guessed that English would supercede it.

Arabic and Chinese were seriously understudied until the last few years, the dominance of western civilization is slipping.

Not to worry, English is still the dominant language at the poker table.

Thank you but Im much too old at this point (I'm more or less retired), if I were 30 years younger I'd jump at it. The current scholarship in Middle Eastern history is in a huge growth trend and the work being done is fascinating (my field is German political history 1919-1939, but its really hit a saturation point, been done to death.).

Juts recommending to anyone considering an advanced history degree, China or the Middle East is the place to be.

it would be a nightmare to translate GS to arabic, generally if you translate arabic to english word by word, it sounds weird. you really have to get the grammar down, it would take forever really, not to mention some of the words in GS won't have a direct translation to arabic.
