wonders if seeing how a free game can make them a ton of cash will change the subscriptions to the other games they run

yeah. nothing i'd like more than a bunch of viagra or car insurance popups in StormFront while I'm getting bolted to death by a GM while scripting at a table!! <SQUEAL!!!>

I guess the interest may garner more SIMU customers. It's not a bad strategy really.
Still lol though.

Actually I like the idea as a form of advertising, it's certainly puts it out there. On the other hand, snarky, intelligent, humour? I assume they are going to hire some Daily Show writers. I avoid Facebook, or any kind of social networking, like the plague (It's like Second Life to me, I just don't get it, must be a generational thing).
After reading the second article, I now have a question. How does Simu make money on this? Do they get a slice of the advertising and what kind of advertising is on Facebook?

I believe I'd read somewhere that the initial game is free, but you can pay money for currency to buy certain upgrades.

Micro-transactions. This is the model du jour these days.

remember hero's journey.
Looks like a Kingdom of Loathing ripoff.

I figured more of a sorcery 101 knockoff.
