Celexei

you just have to have a weapon to do it with, i believe something with a haft on it such as an axe or staff or so would probably work

Are you serious? You'd think you need a garrotte to use the maneuver....

someone who's trained in shadowmastery give me some idea of how good it is. (with a log)

Actually, if you've trained in any of the new skills, can you post logs here so we all know what's hot and whats not? :)

Well, from what I can tell now, stunmaneuvers don't seem to be dependent on the "stunmaneuvers system" any more, where each successful stunmaneuver adds an extra second to your rep times, til you rest sufficiently. It now seems tied to the stamina system, which has been replenishing quick enough for me to get 14 seconds all night long.

Hah, that's a fuckin awesome combat manuever. How many levels seperate you and Eahston, Ed?

Weedmage Princess
04-01-2004, 01:33 AM
How many stamina points you have, E?

I'm getting screwed BIG TIME doing subdue reps. Takes 15 stamina points for the attempt...and right now I barely ever succeed. I'm cursing whoever had the idea to implement stamina into guild-learned skills right now and wishing horrible and humiliating diseases on them right now.

Edaarin
04-01-2004, 01:38 AM
You think that's bad? Subdue for my rogue costs THIRTY. And he's MASTERED it in the guild. I have 102 after the recalculation (cman stamina if you haven't done it yet).

Eahlstan is level 45ish I think, my rogue's level 71

TheEschaton
04-01-2004, 01:38 AM
Unsuccessful stunmaneuvers seem to take 4 stamina, successful ones 8 stamina.

-TheE-

Weedmage Princess
04-01-2004, 01:42 AM
Do you figure your success rate to be high, Edaarin? Cause that's pretty fucked if they're costing you 30 stamina points and there's a pretty decent chance that you'll fail. If the probability that your attempt will be successful is high though, then I guess the cost is fine. Can't have people pulling off subdue (which went from the most useless skills to one of the best) every attempted and it only cost 15 points..heh.

My gripe of the day is: If you're working on a skill through the guild, you shouldn't have to suffer the stamina penalties. Atleast not for the insane reps they ask you to do. It's ridiculous.

Hulkein

I'd say that the garotte skill is worth it just as a roleplay tool. Sure he could just crush his head, but being a rogue and killing someone like that has to be pretty fun.

Edaarin

You feel significantly weaker.
You feel significantly less hardy.
The buzz of thoughts in your mind subsides.

It seems you have died, my friend. Although you cannot do anything, you are keenly aware of what is going on around you...

You realize that you have no outstanding favors which Lorminstra owes you, and without having accomplished a deed for Her, your soul is in danger of vanishing from the land forever!

...departing in 13 mins...

Sycrid just went south.

I don't know how exactly they do it, but warcries while actually in the guild do substantially less damage to vocal cords. I've done upwards of 30 bellows without a problem. In the field, I can barely manage 10. They should put that in somehow. Won't help with critter reps, but those were always pretty easy anyway.
