I was going to fixstats and drop my 99 strength and put it into something else and I got confused. It dropped my stats to their startup level and I didn't have any points to use.

I am assuming I have to drop the 90 strength and put it into others and then when I stop it will reset my stats to what they would be at my level?

That didn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

What is the race and profession of the character?

Human Paladin

Yes. Allocate the stats as they would be at level zero, and stat growth to your current level will be calculated automatically by the game.

You may want to use the "GS4 Spreadsheet" on tsoran.com. It's an Excel file that will calculate your stat growth, training points, and a number of other things.

62 starting strength will get you 100 at cap. Here is what I'd recommend for placement at cap.

Level 0
STR 62
CON 49
DEX 62
AGL 62
DIS 56
AUR 82
LOG 85
INT 82
WIS 62
INF 58

Level 100
STR 100
CON 100
DEX 100
AGL 100
DIS 94
AUR 100
LOG 95
INT 100
WIS 100
INF 90

21 off from all 100's

That sounds great but in the short run aren't I gonna fight like crap? I am going to lose alot of AS until my strength goes back up. As a Paladin does intelligence even help me? The first time I could only put 2 over 70 is that limitation not in effect anymore? Thanks for the help.

I should have asked what level. So you're just starting out and using your 5 resets? Take the numbers I gave you and sacrifice some of the stats you don't think are important and add them to STR/WIS. I value LOG, DIS, INF, INT the least. I wouldn't tank them but having them in the 70's or 80's at cap wouldn't be too bad.

From what I understand, a Paladin is never going to want for AS -- even with a low Strength bonus. CM training and AS-boosting spells will get you through just fine.

Yeah, this weekend I have been playing for a month. I am level 23 now so I will get some boost up to that level. My strength is currently 99 and my wisdom 97 so those are the ones I was planning to sacrifice for more dex and perhaps more aura.

I the world I am playing in it's not possible to have too much AS. People run around begging for strength to get 15 and I am gonna drop mine from 99 down to 70?

People who run around begging for Strength (or ANY spell frankly) are doing it wrong. A constant supply of Strength and Thurfels isn't necessary to hunt, contrary to what morons on the Landing amunet like Trulley would lead you to believe.

99 to 70 will reduce your bonus by 15, and at lower levels if 15 AS kills your hunting, again, you're doing it wrong.

Edit: And you're already a Human so you have a +5 right there, too.

I take thurfels and strength when it's being given away. I have never asked for it nor paid for a spellup.

I know you are correct in what you are saying but I find it hard to make such a sacrifice for a very long term goal. Years, and perhaps never.

So don't Fixstats yet, keep playing your character as-is and use a Fixstats potion at/near Cap if that's your concern. Lots of people do that.

If you are planning to play the character to cap and beyond, you can probably accumulate 1m bounty points for a fixstat pretty easily before cap. Then you could go with stat placement that peaks out sooner, say around 50th, and probably get more training points in the short term.

It depends on whether it's worth it to you.

Otherwise, it doesn't sound like a lower starting strength should be much of an issue for a human paladin.

In short run I am going to do what I was going to do originally. A less extreme drop. I will take my strength from 99 to 85 same with wisdom and put the points into dex and aura instead.

Are the fixstats at the inn only available in first 30 days or do you keep these forever?

first 30. It would be a little imbalanced and fixstat pots would be basically worthless otherwise.
