Due to lower populations, we've decided to reduce the threshold numbers on the crowd size for picking pockets. A smaller crowd than previously is required to overcome penalties for few bystanders. Also, the bonuses a large crowd provides start at a lower number of bystanders. Rogues should use the SENSE command to get an idea of how easy it is to steal in their current room.

I wonder if other GMs feel bad when they see how much Oscuro does.

I think Oscuro does more than all the other GMs combined.

Is there anything else anybody wants?

I can complain about how it shouldn't be added/fixed and Oscuro will add it/fix it the next day.

Guaranteed to work!!

Yeah, fix mfire to make people want it.

Yeah, fix mfire to make people want it.

Tried that!

Oscuro threatened to nerf semi's in response.

What? So if I sit in the open with two longswords I can attack once each for 5 second RT, or I can focused mstrike 3 times for 7 seconds but it takes me 9+ seconds to shoot three unfocused arrows? Gay.

Disregard Inspire. He's being so intentionally obtuse, it's ridiculous.

If people can't see how insanely OP archery is, then they simply have absolutely no grasp on the mechanics of GS.

Archery, Thrown Weapons (w/ Toys), 616, 1030, 518, Paladin AS....

What isn't OP in GS?

How much of that is going to be removed/changed? Will that make GS more fun or less fun?

Thrown Weapons isn't OP in the slightest and qualifying the statement to include 50+ million silver items is a little more than absurd.

Just to clarify, you DO think archery is OP but you don't want it nerfed because you'd not have as much fun pwning creatures in the eye?

I would rather see the RT from archery be brought in line with melee combat and given more options via CMans instead of a combat style that reminds me of GS before CMans and MStrike were introduced - attack, attack, attack, etc. Just smashing through crowds of creatures with eye-aimed shots is boring as hell. In summation, I'd like to see Archery adjusted to be more balanced with melee and then given more options. Maybe one of the paths would be to train in a combination of CMans that allows a close approximation of the power Archery had pre-nerf but giving people options on how to train I think makes for the a more compelling game.

How many people left during the GS3 to GS4 "transition." People like one-shotting things. GS3 Rogues were FUN, now look at rogues...

Old Sorcerers were fun, now look at them.

I guess you want it to be, archery was fun, now look at it...

I agree that melee sucks, but that doesn't mean nerf ranged, it means make melee FUN again.

I would make OHE's faster to start, closer to brawling weapon RT.

I'll give up some balance in the name of fun.

GS3 Rogues didn't 1-shot a lot of things, especially casters. They introduced sweep for the rogue guild because sweep was an indirect way of getting something into offensive. You would sweep a creature, wait for it to stand up so it would be in offensive, then sweep again if needed and hide/ambush it. Now, with pushdown, you don't necessarily have to set things up. Of course, we have crit randomization and E/B/P now also so you might need to on tough creatures or creatures with high offensive DS. I think that's an insanely awesome improvement to roguish combat.

Sorcs before growing pains were absurdly overpowered. I do think archery and melee need more flash/shock/awe. Doing something pretty damn cool albeit rarely would go a long way for the game instead of just simply killing things outright with insane efficiency.

What's worse is you totally missed the point of what I would do with archery. I would make it so the same effect of 3-RT-eye-aimed-shots could still be closely approximated but at more cost to bring it in line with balance and additionally open up other options for more diversity between archers. I mean, honestly, archers just 2x ranged, perception, ambsuh then what . . . ?

It sounds like fun, to you, is playing games with IDDQD.

From the perspective of a rogue/archer... I'd like to see more diversity within the training path. It is troublesome that I can mow through an area eye-shotting things with tremendous efficiency, and that does get boring. It also becomes frustrating when something catches me with a mind jolt or some other warding spell, which equates to instant death. There's really no skill in any of it- it's a matter of chance, as to what event happens first. For the most part, I kill things.. once in a while, something wards me, and I either die or very nearly die and the hunt is ended. This binary system, either/or, zero/one, is really a fundamental problem with GS, and one that would be exceedingly difficult to resolve within current game mechanics. I'm not sure what the fix would be.

Tired of broken systems?

Tired of the GM's being non-responsive on the steal/accuse/laugh at mark setup?

Let's list all the good "thieving" spots and then ruin them by making sure everyone knows not to rest there.

how many of you had archers before the archery system was put in place? you want to talk about needing improvement...This current system IS OP'd but not so outrageously that its out of control.

That's like asking how many people had flying cars before flying cars came out.
