Changing item skins in WOW

Does anyone know if there is an addon that allows you to change the appearence of items in game? It's starting to bother me that I look exactly the same as every other toon of class x that I see. Not too mention the even-more-rediculous-than-last-tier shoulders that are freaking huge. In Cataclysm I am fully expecting the shoulders too be taller than my toon and come with a pair of bearers.

Not interested in changing my race or anything else, just the look of what I am wearing. Thanks

You used to be able to, but I'm pretty sure when BC landed Blizz put a stop to this.

there is one for warlocks at felfire.com to turn flames green, so i'd assume its still possible for other stuff too

I found one for boss quotes but nothing else and it was a bit out of date.

Well apparently I am not the only one who thinks the cookie-cutter/clone look is getting old.
