My right ear has been ringing constantly for almost 7 weeks now. I've tried several medications and none of them have helped. I think my next step is to see an ENT specialist. If that fails, I'll look in to getting a masking device. Any Tinnitus sufferers here? I'm miserable.

I heard doing this helps:

I'm supposed to go back to the doctor because my condition hasn't improved. I wonder if I'll be charged $85 again to see him. Perhaps I can call him instead. If another drug may be able to help me, he can just contact my Pharmacist.
Hopefully I don't have to visit him in order to get a new prescription.

I have tinnitus, but it's not horrible, or maybe I'm just used to it. For most people there's nothing you can do about it.

My aunt that I live with currently has it. She's a RN. She says there's nothing she can do about it.

I was told that I have an ear infection and that there is fluid in my ear. So I'm not sure why it can't be treated. Perhaps it'll go away on its own. I may try Gingko Baloba and Vitamin B.

Why don't you try antibiotics. I hear they do some shit for infections.

I took Moxatag, Fluticasone, Amoxicillin, and Methlyprednisolone. Ear still the same...
I contacted the clinic and I am waiting on a call from the PA (Physician Assistant- guy who saw me).

He just called me back and he said he won't charge me to look at my ear again. He sounded a little frustrated though heh.
Wish me luck :)

Dude looked at my ear again. This time he said it looked "perfect." He said I should see an ENT. But before I shell out that kind of money, I'll try Gingko Baloba and Vitamin B. Supposedly Gingko helps with Tinnitus and the Vitamin B can help me with stress (which may cause Tinnitus too).
If I see no improvement in 2 months, I'll see the ENT.

Good plan. Pray nightly over it and, if you can find someone willing, have them pray and lay their hands over your ears, twice a day. Sacrifice a goat too. That's probably what the ENT specialist would probably tell you.
Hell, it's only ringing in your ear. Been going on for 2 months already and your miserable, what's another two months of waiting. Waiting never makes a problem worse.
I'd say your internet recipe of gingko and vit. B is great! Best of luck with it.
Doesn't ringing in your ear mean that someone's talking about you? Figure out who it is, get them to stop. Problem solved.

So, have you actually been to the doctor, or is this WebMD self-diagnosis? Because I have definitely self-diagnosed cancer (it was actually a gummy bear).

I hate WebMD with a passion. Whenever I was screening patients for my docs when I was working in DC, and these officers came in with printouts of what they had.....want to yell at them but they're not enlisted :(

I thought I would be treated by a doctor at both the walk in clinic thats I went to. But 1 was a Nurse Practitioner and the other was a Physician Assistant.
This is how it went down.
Nurse Practitioner: "You got an ear infection. Take this Moxatag and the ringing will stop."
I still had ringing.
So I went some place else.
Physician Assistant (trip 1): "You definitely got fluid in the ear. Take these 3 prescriptions and you'll be better in 5-6 days."
No improvement...
Physician Assistant (trip 2): "Your ear looks perfectly normal. Are you just having ringing?"
Me: "Yes"
Physician Assistant: "You need to see an ENT. Go to this guy, he is good."

You need to see an otolaryngologist.
Stop fucking around with PA's and GP doctors and go to a specialist. If it runs you $200, who cares. You are 100% wasting your time seeing anyone other than a reputable ear/nose/throat doctor with anything ear related. You can get permanent hearing loss from infections, so feel free to wait for 2 more months. You've been warned.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this yet but this is one of the ONLY things you should visit a Veteran's Hospital for. They are the experts. If you can get an appointment with one of those doctors, do it. I used to suffer from this condition because I spent nearly every day of my service on firing ranges of some sort.
I was suggested L-Arginine by one of these doctors for tinnitis and the headaches that accompany them. Works just fine. Sometimes there is a mild ringing but nothing severe like when I used to blow shit up for a living. Only take it if you have a healthy heart though.

I miss working on firing lines. Especially when it was M19 training!

Also, just to express my opinion ... PAs and NPs are fantastic to see for 95% of your conditions. General practioners too. There's a reason there are specialists out there. They fill in the rest.

Dude. This one time I was really anxious to finish my book but they had a blockage in a 19 barrel (common at minus 30). They were chalk rounds so I planted the barrel between my boots, shook the exterior parts of the sear and fired over and over again until there was a hole in the floor of the ammo shack. I did alot of pushups on rocks that week but I hear my method is still used at the same range in the shack with the hole in the floor.
I was reading Sitka by Louis L'Amour. Damn good book. In hindsight those were really good times. Miss my big guns. :(
