View Full Version : Where Is it Now: Lord Cameron's bastard sword

I know this might not be the most appropriate place for this, but does any know if Lord Cameron's bastard sword is still around Elanthia?

I recall him having it in 1997, maybe 1998. I believe it was a 6x bastard sword at the time and had this script that featured a spectral wolf emerging from the sword. Any information about it would be appreciated. I assume it has long been lost, but figured if someone knew where it is now, it would be someone on these forums.

The wolf familiar sword? Could choose between a bless that lasted for a good while or a unique wolf familiar. If that's the one you mean, it sold not long ago, maybe a year or so, and should still be banging around.

Yeah def. here somewhere but it's not know as Lord Cameron's sword. Very few blades get known after one owner.

I thought it was Connour that had it...

Sounds like a pretty cool weapon. Good luck tracking it down.

Yeah I think it was Lord Connour, and at the time it was pretty much known as his.

I'm sure you guys are right, my memory from then is quite foggy. I called it Cameron's (guess it was really Connour's!) bastard sword because I couldn't remember any of the real important identifiers like it's name or attributes other than the bastard sword and wolf familiar part.

It's pretty impressive it's still around though. I'll have to do some searches on PC to find it.

In case anyone was as interested as me, here's what I found out from my searching so far.

dark blue vultite bastard sword
SHOW: It appears to be an ordinary sword, but for an instant, you swear
you see the image of a shadowy black wolf reflecting from the blade.

1x a day black wolf familiar
Permabless for 24 hours when raised. Can only use once a day (how convenient).

I'm definitely going to keep my eyes peeled for this. I was really impressed when I was saw it in action in Darkstone and it still sounds very neat to me.

Connour and Celtic are the ones I remember owning it the longest.

Haven't seen it in years.

Oh it's still around.

It also has a few different scripts for raise/turn/tilt etc.

And an interesting bug that allows the wielder to control the wolf. However by giving the sword to someone else you also give them control of the wolf without losing control yourself.

I'll buy it, if the owner is willing to part with it.

A bit more history on the item and where it came from...

Lucos was the original owner of this item. It came from the first EG/Spitfire auction back in the 90's. Real fuzzy memory, but I remember it being the first "grand" auction that I attended and they had silver rooms and (maybe?) token rooms based on the player's level. Lucos kept it for awhile and then traded it to Celtic I think. Not sure what happened to it after that.

If it's still around, has anyone seen it recently or knows who owns it?

They sold a second one at a more recent auction, not sure which is which though. Or if they both still exist or just one.

One still exists. Not sure of the newer version.

Current stats on them?

Drazaan

Not sure as I have never asked about the current stats on either of the weapons when I've talked to both of the owners. I do know they were both initally (and may still be) 5x bastard swords with the spirit familiar function as well as the blessing one I noted earlier. No idea about any additional enhancements. My interest in the weapon has been a nostalgic sort of interest rather than the 'I want a powerful weapon' sort.

I also have this weird desire that comes with knowing there's some Gemstone line of text out there that I had used in Darkstone in the 90s that's somehow still a line of text that has been living it's own life in the game for the past 21 years. Using it again, hopefully owning it, would be a textual homecoming.
