Oakland taking McClain despite all their other glaring issues was sort of a head-scratcher, but yeah Alabama having two guys go in the first round.

Florida has two so far as well. Oklahoma has four so far.

The state of Oklahoma has six so far. Pretty crazy.

And that's swell for them. I just remember two years ago when Alabama didn't have a single player taken in the draft, period.

Whoooa Broncos take Tebow.
Whoooa Tebow goes before Clausen or McCoy.

Fuck Clausen, I hope he drops to the third round.
Does anyone else detest Kiper as much as I do?

Tebow is gonna be AWFUL in the NFL. I don't trust Clausen either. Hope McCoy drops to the Bills, because he seems to be the only one (barring perhaps Bradford) who might actually be decent in the NFL.
Dolphins took a decent DT and got a pick in the 2nd round. Honestly, after adding Brandon Marshall I'm still buzzing. Looking to take a decent safety with our 2nd round pick and OLB and DEs with the rest.

I was surprised Dez Bryant dropped all the way to the Cowboys. Potential steal there.
My Bengals grabbed a much needed TE. Probably could've got him 2nd round but it was such a glaring position of need I can't be too upset.

LOL at another ND QB tumbling through the draft. ND sucks yo. and the NFL agrees.

Actually I could see Jimmy being the best QB in the draft quite easily.
Beyond that, Tebow will grab a few Pro Bowls and spot some solid numbers eventually, depending on where he goes and how much play he gets. I could see him being a very solid triple threat, so much so that other similar pass/run/catch guys get drafted progressively higher with his success. The Broncos, though? That's another story.
Tebow on the Vikings would've been money. Hearing "Tebow to Harvin, Tebow to Harvin!" again would've been awesome stuff. Opportunity lost. Favre, Tebow (at FB) and AP in the backfield would've been amazing to watch.

Personally I'm ecstatic that Clausen went Carolina. They both suck.

McCoy will have the best career of any QB in this draft, hands down.
Clausen will have the worst.

No worries. I hear undrafted (http://www.nfl.com/players/gregcamarillo/profile?id=CAM014486) white (http://www.nfl.com/players/weswelker/profile?id=WEL219433) receivers (http://www.nfl.com/players/waynechrebet/profile?id=CHR062293) are fairly decent now and then.

Jimmy has Steve Smith and a young O-Line, along with a clear path to the Starting QB slot beyond next season.
Tebow has two sort of veteran QBs that he'll surpass just in time for the Broncos to grow into a solid team.
Bradford has absolutely nothing.
Colt (McCoy) has five years of losing football ahead of him, along with a complete team overhaul and future coaching changes to contend with.
Not too difficult to discern the clear winners here, regardless of the players' talent.
TheEschaton
04-23-2010, 09:59 PM
A) Tebow sucks. Plain and simple. He won't ever be a starting QB in the NFL.
B) Like someone already said, McCoy'll have the best career in the NFL of the four, barring some miracles in St. Louis. It won't be with the Browns, though, lol.
C) Why the Bills took a second D-lineman in the third round when McCoy was still on the table and they had used a 2nd rounder to pick up a nose tackle, is beyond me. I stopped watching then.

...McCoy will sign a 5-7 year deal with Cleveland. He wont be even relatively decent with the Browns leading up to his prime, and every other team will look elsewhere for a franchise QB in half a decade.
This was his one chance to get somewhere off of his college reputation, as his talent level on its own wont get him a starting job.
Sorry to burst your bubble.

You're right, winning more games than any QB in NCAA history with mediocre talent around him just won't cut it in the NFL.

So, I was listening to the radio today, and a caller informed the local host. Alualu was chosen and people are skeptical, but apparently in some form of Indian, Alu means potato.
Knighton's nickname is Potroast, the other DT. I find it kinda awesome the interior D-line can be called Potroast & Potatoes.

...because NCAA stats prove everything, right?
For the record: McCoy has HOW many National Championships?
...and before you spring the "THAT'S A TEAM ACHIEVEMENTSZ!1!" bullshit...
For the record: Colt Brennan has HOW many more career passing yards, touchdowns, and completions?
Throwing out inflated stats to justify a prospect's supposed talent is hilariously moronic. Consider that Graham Harrell posted fairly similar numbers throughout his career, and you have all the proof you need.

That's the best thing I've ever heard in my life.
Keep an eye on Jimmy Graham the tight end out of Miami that the Saints took. Perfect offense for that guy, good situation with Shockey the clear #1 but getting on in years. In a year or two this kid is going to be killer.

Since when is UT talent mediocre? How fucking easy is it to recruit there? Hmm, who are the top 20 guys in Texas? Alright, let's offer them and call it a day.

Mike Leach is a great offensive guru, but he is by no means a Quarterback-friendly coach. How Graham Harrell (who played in a fairly basic spread offense) compares to Colt Brennan (who ran a pro style offense every snap of his life from eighth grade moving forward) is beyond me.
Graham Harrell got fucked by the Browns. Tim Couch (the only other noteworthy Leach disciple) got fucked by the Browns. That brings us full circle, as McCoy will obviously get fucked by the Browns.
You never see a GREAT Quarterback on an awful team. Considering the Browns will be a sub-.500 team for the forseeable future, I don't see how anyone can make the case for McCoy's career outlasting Tebow or Clausen's.

His offensive line was average and that's being generous. His number one receiver was Jordan Shipley for fucks sake. The guy carried Texas for his entire tenure there. He's going to be a great Nfl QB.
Beaides, most of the talent in Texas goes to either LSU or Oklahoma, everyone knows that.

Aloo is potato in Hindi, IE, Indians from India. Alualu is from Samoa, which is Indian as in dumbass Europeans thought they had found India when they sailed west and found brown people. It's a bit of a stretch.

This is a great pick by the Saints.
The Jets' picks kind of surprise me , but I guess they are getting some depth for the offensive line and CB. While they do have a few pro-bowlers, I suppose there are a few of them that are getting up there in age (Faneca/Woody).
Surprise of the draft? The Raiders took a solid MLB in McClain and then added a DT. I was not expecting them to take McClain in the top 10.

OK...not technically NFL draft, but Jason Campbell traded to the Raiders for...a 4th round draft pick 2 years from now? Now I think the guy sucks...but that low for a starting JaMarcus Russel replacement? How good do we really think Donovan will really be?

Chances are the Redskins, with Mike Shannahan, pick a QB in next years QB heavy draft.
McNabb lasts till the end of his contract in Washington, and Ryan Mallett gets tabbed as his replacement.

No way Mike waits until the 4th round to pick his QB to groom. Next year the 'skins will pick either Lockler or Mallett.
