Nice haul

I'm glad someone still uses this.

I don't see to much harm in taking gems and alchemy junk.

You reach into Gedron's sorcerer's cloak and pull out a pair of small steel jaws.

That's really quite funny.

aren't the jaws supposed to snap on thieves? lol

I hope this doesn't lead to CvC IG just by reading it here. Catch him in action, or suck it up.

Not to mention anyone not afk'ing should really know to close their containers when Vyst is around. Hell I even close them in sancts if he's there.

I think the Trace is the only town center that isn't naturally sancted, hence why thieves love it there.

I don't think I've ever, ever rested with silver in my pockets, either.

Did you edit out coin pulls, or are you always specifically stealing from a container? Also, you never get caught if you try to steal from a closed container, right? Just the messaging that so-and-so's container is closed, er?

I edit out coin pulls, herb pulls, and other junk pulls (like foraging task herbs). I try to always have a container to target, but if I can't find one or I think the one I'm targeting is empty, I won't target anything.

You can't get caught stealing from a closed container, but I the game treats it as a pull (you can't steal for another 15 seconds or whatever it is) and I believe it increases the chance that you will be caught by the character you attempted from. The more you consecutively steal from one person, the higher chances of you getting caught.

Ah.

Would it be bananas of me to suggest Rogues be able to triple in PP while Warriors and Rangers have the capacity to double in it (again?)

I think Rogues have to be able to train more in pickpocketing than a vagrant Warrior or a stealthy Ranger. The training cost would have to vary severely if you were talking about Warriors and Rangers being able to double, as well. Does the ability to be a thief first and foremost define a "Rogue?" Anyway, Rogues being able to triple in Pickpocketing would actually add some serious fun to the game because items would be that much more snatchable -- And it might entice others, at earlier levels, to train in PP, which could lead to really awesome RP. Or CvC crap. Yay.

I was always partial to the useless junk sales. If you've never seen him do one, they're pretty entertaining. Something about people being told, in no uncertain terms, that they're buying junk and then watching them get upset that they have a heavy backpack full of junk. You need to come back to the Landing and do those again. Good times...

Yes, for all those who don't know, Mog was my original teacher.

If I remember my junkpack history correctly, I believe Methais was the progenitor.

People have been selling junkpacks for as long as their has been an amunet.

Nah, I remember you telling me. Yours were just more poignant because you did one literally within minutes of my meeting you.

I remember when I was playing my level 40ish sorcerer/wizard/bard combo, and Vyst was around and up to his old tricks, I'd taunt him. The bard would play with all sorts of high value gems in his neckpouch (unstealable container location) and the other two each had a 1 items pinworn container (gloves, or a vest or something) with an EXTREMELY CHEAP (clear topaz cheap) cursed gem in it, and all other containers closed. I'd see him grab my cursed gem, get his 309/315 imbed, stash the gem, i'd curse another, stash it, he'd take that too. Then he'd bitch that I never had any high value gems for him to steal, and that he was spending more on his uncurses than the gems were worth. I let him know, that was the point. Maybe he'd just stop trying. (Fat chance, I know.)

Actually, the way I remember it I just stole from you absent-mindedly waiting for the boat to Ta'Vaalor, used my uncurse imbeds (which were given to me, I've never bought any) when stuck with a cursed gem, then kept stealing. I never bitched, you just made fun of me for it. :P

I'm sure you got the better of me sometimes. OTher times, I remember you getting at least a little flustered. Carry on. Carry on.

I have long since gotten rid of that wand harness because I knew someone was taking my wands but not sure who. I know Xia has said she took some from me. I just wish I could have gotten that thing altered to open and close. Oh well, better off not to have it now.

Didn't Wezas or someone have a pickpocket log analyzer that broke down pulls by who/what and generated some neat stats?

Oh, there it is: http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?t=17986

Looks like it doesn't work with SF logs. Would be pretty simple to whip something similar up, though...

Funny part is now, I am working my way to making many of the wands you used to pick off of me. I was always pissed that I didn't have enough points to get that harness fixed to open and close. It was awesome that it would hold 50 wands at a time. Now I just keep them in my satchel that you put a lock onto, or in my shop till I need them. Got to say that you are smooth at lifting people. I'll have to include that in training of other sorcerers that move to Icemule.

You could set up a little pre/post hunting script to stash the harness in another container and unstash it before/after you hunt. Or you could just hold the harness in your hands while you rest.

Or you could just make weekly payments to Vyst in return for him not stealing all your wands.

I'm curious now how much I've lost. I like to think I was pretty good at keeping my containers closed, but who knows. Any log hits for Maodan?

PS: Be warned, I will e-rage and kill you IG once for every item you report as having stolen

PSS: No I won't, I don't even play anymore. Lulz.

Keleborrn made one specifically for me a few months ago. It involved a site he made and a perl script needed to trim your logs. The perl script was a little tricky to use and it seems he took the site down, so I'd have to ask him to put it back up.
I wrote a log parser for vulvamancer a while back, it uses a RegEx file to let you parse out any particular fields you'd like into an cvs file (to open in excel), and then I made a RegEx for pickpocket pulls.

You reach into Dgry's cerulean wool cloak and pull out a shard of oblivion quartz.

Well done here. I used to keep those around in open containers sometimes because it was amusing to see what it would do to lower level thieves. Clearly they're just more coins for higher level thieves.

Interestingly enough, I don't think Vyst has ever stolen from Ceyrin (or if he has, I never noticed it of course). Generally though, most of my shit stays closed.

Don't worry. When Tsin comes back I plan to amuse myself by stealing from every open container I can find.
