Student was dancing down the street after a win over Duke, and the cops suddenly beat the crap out of him. He and his friend were also charged with felonies for assaulting the officers and horses. The video is damning.

Those cops belong in jail as felons. I've never encountered anyone in law enforcement I disliked (even the guy giving me a speeding ticket, or the one who arrested me for a dui), so I'm sure that craziness is so rare it's near nothing compared to all the good done. But damn.

I wonder what the settlement for that is going to be.

What gets me is how the multiple cops attacked at once. You'd think you'd see one person fly off the handle, then other join in. Not so much here, it doesn't seem. They just laid him out all-together like. I say either premeditation by the cops or something more to the story to damn the kid's case. I doubt the latter- the cops wouldn't have had to lie if that were the case.

He coulda goatse'd them with his own asshole all while calling them every dirty word in the book from between his legs and he still wouldn't have deserved that kind of beating.

Isn't this the same police department that busted into their mayor's house and shot his dogs to death on a drug raid? I think this department has a pretty solid reputation for engaging in a lot of out of control behavior.

CP has become pretty popular with the media all of a sudden. CNN was all over the place today interviewing people about the breakdown of law and order after that Duke game.

I don't think he could have said anything, save "Hey look at this gun in my pants I'm about to shoot you with", that would have drawn the beatdown he got.

And whoever said it above, I also thought it strange to see all 3 cops just jump him at once and commence the beat down. Gang mentality.

One cop so far has been suspended.

FBI is now looking into the matter.



An internal affairs investigation is underway, focusing on the three officers involved and another officer who filed charges against the student for assaulting a police officer that don't match the startling videotape.

"What I saw on that tape, I see a number of officers that are acting outside the color of our policies and our directives," said Chief Roberto Hylton.

The chief says he wants the investigation to be transparent. He does believe this is an isolated incident.

That's utterly ridiculous. The police need to use reasonable force on occasion to do their jobs, but this is just gratuitous and unprovoked violence.

With the proliferation of cameras everwhere, I'm more concerned that cops can be fucking stupid enough to think they are ever safe to conduct themselves less than professionally.

Even if it was provoked it's gratuitous. I can't really think of a reason for soemone to catch a beat down like that (ok let's be honest some people deserve a beat down that badly but still you don't do that shit).

That's what makes me think he might have said something. I don't think it justifies it, just from their reaction I think he probably said something.
