I have been taking care of a gorgeous female calico cat who was left by the previous tenants of my townhouse. I feel horrible calling up a shelter (plus it's fucking impossible because they all close at 3:30, and I can't get in touch with all to find out if they are no kill or not). But if there is anyone that is in the area and would like to add a cat to the family, please respond and/or U2U me.
Yes this post is completely serious. The cat is incredibly friendly and sweet. She probably needs a visit to the vet as well (also checked for fleas and ticks). I am located in Laurel, MD, and would like to find a home by SOME means before it gets too much colder outside.

I'd love to but my girl isn't a cat person and my Newfoundland would probably eat it.
I'd love a cat though =(
Maybe Maimara is looking for a playmate for her ferrets.

Suggestions of other friends in the area would be useful as well. Or if anyone knows of a no-kill shelter around that would accept a stray..

Wish I could help you, but my apartment's too small for two animals. I'd love to have a cat and my dog would love a playmate I'm sure.

I can't have cats in the place I live, but I may be moving very shortly.
SP, why don't you keep her? Allergic?
Also, if you could get a digital picture of her or something, it'd help finding a home -- I will check around at work.

There are a number of Maryland shelters listed at this link, Soulpie. Maybe this will help.

If I had my own house, I'd gladly take her. Then again, leaving it up to me, my home would wind up looking like a zoo. I hope you find a good home for her.

I love cats, hence why I've been taking care of it. I signed no pets in my lease, and neither of my roommates would want a cat in the house anyway.

I hope you find a home for her, Soulpie. She sounds like she'd be a wonderful companion for someone. If you can't place her, there are several no-kill shelters listed on the site I gave you. They should be able to find a home for such a loving kitty. :)

Now, that's a real money saver for someone! I wish you could keep her, though, Soulpie. You care so much about her! :)

So all of the places I've *tried* calling either won't ever pick up, or don't just accept "bring ins". Still gonna have to look around but it looks like shelters aren't the way to go. Any leads would be nice.
