38 hunting help?

Heyyyy.. Hunting with my 38 rogue.. Currently using bows.
Been poking at lesser ice giants and the such, but they keep canning me.
Any suggestions?

Illistim has some nice mid 30 to low 40 hunting.

Granted I was sword/board (well... handaxe...) when I did ice giants but that was the easiest hunting I ever had. Creatures don't get much slower.

Maybe their natural padding wrecks you with a bow.

I always found greaters much easier than lessers with a bow.

kiramon are extremely easy. i hunted them for a while in darkstone and they are quite generous with the gems. lots of times 2-3 gems per creature

Alright, thanks.. I have 79 ranks of armor and just started wearing MBP. It's still an extra second of RT per shot, but it's worth the damage reduction...
I'm plinkin at the kiramon and running around Gyldemar, it's working out so far.

You shouldn't have an RT penalty with 79 ranks of AU in MBP.

You train off all RT penalties for MBP at 70 ranks of armor use. To minimize action penalty to -20, it requires 80 ranks. If you have less than 70 ranks of armor use, you will incur an RT penalty if your AGIDEX is not sufficient to make up the difference.

You could be right... The math part of it never sticks in my brain. All I know is some races definitely need more than 80 ranks of armor before all penalties are at a minimum for MBP.

The only penalty I can think of that isn't completely trained away for MBP with 80 armor ranks is spell hindrance. What other penalty are you thinking of? I know it's not RT or maneuver penalty. What Da Capn said was spot on.

Shaman spike in Trali, as well as bind so look out for those. Vesperti in Solhaven is relatively unpopulated. They mana drain, and curse. Sprites and Bendiths if you don't want to uphunt too much and get decent drops.
