View Full Version : Items you've found in the "treasure frenzy"

To get away from the other thread that is talking about the gift box items, use this thread to post the items that you've found that you think might be from the treasure frenzy.

I went through about 200-300 boxes yesterday and really didn't find anything to special. I did find three or four items that were very generic. For example, some full leather (4x), a glaes shield (3x), a vultite mace (4x). Seemed kind of odd that they all came from boxes and had none of the typical treasure adjectives.

We did some testing last night and noticed no substantial increase yet.

The wording in the announcement suggested that its a sliding scale with Frezy being the highest. And that they would be moving that slider up over time to that level.

So I wonder if its going to be a bit more gradual than just instant treasure frenzy.

Been finding above-average number of trinkets and jewelry in boxes and on critters. Haven't had them sung to yet since I usually wait until I have a nice pile of them. No telling if they are crap or enhancives yet. Oh, and a hoarbeam aegis the pawn bought for 3K.

Nothin' on my end, although I'm overhunting in the Bowels. I'll be heading back to Teras soon.

I went through 30-40 boxes yesterday. Critters do seem to drop fewer cheap gems though.

I will be testing a location tonight where in one 15m run I was pulling in 30-40 gems for bounties.

Will see if the gem quality has increased or not for sure.

I found a 5x plasma spear with a neat description and a nice perm enhancive in the past two days... other than that, a few worthless runestaffs. The spear wasn't a generic treasure gen, it must have been a gm drop to the hopper. Fun times. Also, I applaud Simu- making an effort at bringing in new (old) players, the giftbox item, this treasure thing, etc. Also, I noticed that all this is coming on the heels of Warden's departure- think someone at simu is finally saying yes to things?

Three chars wearing armor, containers, and weapons only. Warcamps or OTF with tonis running consistently. All swing uber weapons at 2 seconds. A satchel that holds 1000lbs (though I never get it above 500), a character to watch the boxes while we hunt, and an army of pickers that know me and want the easy EXP or to get LM ranks (with every at the table its an audience). All of a sudden, you get about 15-20 boxes a hunt, which takes about 10 minutes. It starts to add up quick.

The downside is that you don't gain much EXP and it gets pretty boring really quick. I just went to the grind yesterday because I wanted to see what this whole frenzy was about.

Aside from a fairly large increase of random jewelry, I only found a couple out of the ordinary items:

"a green zircon" - regular gem as far as I can tell, but the gemshop won't take it, pawnshop appraises it for like 90 silver. Maybe it's one of those chrisms? I don't know.

"a bone pommeled steel falchion" - I spent 30 minutes trying to remember how to get to the damn AI crystal only to find out it's 0x, but Voln/potion blessed.

Have found standard treasure feeder stuff so far: some heavily damage padded vultite leg greaves, a golvern morning star, a set of enchanted robes, probably 2x, a vaalorn scimitar that adds 10 to MIU and a few low level weapons etc. No items added to the hopper by hand as far as I can tell.

birch-handled vaalorn battle axe

Careful examination indicates the vaalorn battle axe has a base strength of 80 and a base durability of 185. You also determine the current integrity of the vaalorn battle axe to be at 100.0%.

I've gotten two items I'm pretty sure are not normal:

a painted clay flask engraved upon the surface.:

The clay flask looks like it has several doses left.

In the Common language, it reads:
Thou shalt be filled with discipline.

This is a small item, under a pound. In your best estimation, it's worth about 100,000 silvers.

You sense a faint aura of magic around the clay flask. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the flask is as a consumable item of food or drink. Also, it seems to have some sort of enhancive properties.

This is a drinkable item, which casts spells of some type, though you are not sure of the sphere. It has a few sips.
The flask resonates with your voice, indicating that it enhances its owner in the following ways:
It provides a bonus to Discipline.
You think that you could probably find out something more about the flask's enhancive properties if you tried.

The flask resonates with your voice, indicating that it enhances its owner in the following ways:
It provides a bonus of 10 to Discipline.
The flask seems to be out of charges.
The bonuses provided by this item should last a fair amount of time.

You sense that the clay flask will crumble into dust after its last enhancive charge has been expended.

You sense that the clay flask will disintegrate after its last magical charge has been expended.

The loresong is a mess, but I'm pretty sure its trying to say that it gives +10 discipline for some amount of time with each sip.

Next up:
a black and white toy cat

Some things are exactly as they appear. Follow your instincts.

You estimate that a black and white toy cat can store a very small amount with enough space for one item of very small size.

>In the white toy cat you see a a black and white toy kitten.

a black and white toy kitten:

As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the white toy kitten in your hand...

The white toy kitten contains the spell Calm, from the Major Spiritual circle.

You sense that the white toy kitten will persist after its last magical charge has been expended.

Thanks to the pawnshop for making me realize the cat was a container.

You estimate that a sapphire-colored leather lockpick kit stamped with a peacock can store a very small amount with enough space for a couple of items.

You determine that you could wear the kit on your ankle. The kit appears to serve some purpose.

It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of leather.

Actually now that I notice the field of white I am certain the original design is from that festival.

I took a prolonged break from hunting -- mostly because I thought this frenzy thing was basically over but I just found another toy in a toy:

You remove a small green toy gremlin from in your fel coffer.
You remove a tiny white toy grub from in your green toy gremlin.

The little gremlin is a small furless toy with beady little eyes and sharp teeth that have been filed into triangular fangs. It has long, metal capped, nails protruding several inches from the tip of each finger. Though humanoid in form, it has a natural facial expression that is as wicked as any other known to nature.

The little toy grub is a small yellowish white creature little more than a few inches long. [insert dirty jokes]

The grub casts 101, heh.

You sense a faint aura of magic around the gold stickpin. You also feel a faint drawing sensation from it, as though it may be able to hold more power. From the pitch of the vibration you determine that the purpose of the stickpin is to cast a spell or perform some magical purpose. Also, it seems to have some sort of enhancive properties.

The magical strength of this item is strong. It could probably handle the imbedding of an entirely new spell, if handled with care.

The stickpin resonates with your voice, indicating that it enhances its owner in the following ways:
It provides a bonus of 7 to Agility.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 28 times.
It provides a bonus of 2 to Stamina Recovery.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 3 times.

You determine that you could wear the corset anywhere on your body. The corset appears to serve some purpose.

It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of cloth.

J>wear cors
Loosening the laces on your corset, you gracefully slide into the garment and begin to tighten the corset for a comfortable fit.

J>pull cors
Grasping the cords once again, you attempt to pull your corset tighter than ever before. All of a sudden, your vision starts to turn gray and you come very close to losing consciousness due to the lack of air! Quickly, the ground rushes towards you as you fall gasping to the ground.

tap cors
J>You run your fingers absentmindedly back and forth along your corset's grommets.

>remove cors
Pulling the laces loose from their knots, you begin to unlace the garment and slide out of the corset. With a sigh of relief, you are able to breathe more easily than before.

Someone loosens the laces on her white lace corset before sliding gracefully into the garment.

Frowning at her white lace corset, Someone unties the cording and pulls very hard on the laces. Someone starts to turn blue and loses her balance, toppling over onto the ground. She almost passed out!

Someone gazes around and absently runs her fingers back and forth over her corset's grommets.

You remove a polished maoral ring box from in your black leather pouch.

Lined in deep blue crushed velvet, the maoral box is polished to a lustrous sheen and preserved with a clear lacquer. Overlapping waves rise around the four sides of the piece, while the lid is carved with the image of a cliff overlooking the sea. A lone woman stands looking down at the frothy water where a ship leaves a small, highly detailed port. Crafted from individual squares of flawless ivory, the box is pieced together with polished silver hinges that match the tiny clawed feet upon the bottom.
