So, I've been toying with the idea of using a fix skill to get this girl into brig. I feel like it will increase my survivability a whole lot, but I'd also like to have a high CS and be able to heal well, also. Any thoughts on this? This is what I'm working with right now.

Brig would be 7% spell hindrance, -12 action.
LBP would be 4% spell hindrance, -7 action.

Same damage factors, same padding, but 1 point less crit divisor on everything but chest.

Only reason to go with brig IMO would be if you had some padded brig, otherwise LBP would be good if your going to just use AdG padding or something.

AvD and CvA is different, correct?

I intended on buying some nice padded brig. It seems to be much more available than padded double leathers. Maybe I'll start looking for LBP as well.

Can you see any way for me to tweak my skills to accommodate the change without messing everything up?

Yes AvD would be about 6 less, and CvA about 3 less. Not a big concern for a pure.

Maybe not a big concern, but still, a factor, even if a minor one.

As a pure I would rather be in doubles. I tried brig and it was great except for the fact that I missed alot of casts due to hindrance which annoyed the hell outta me. Missing casts could mean the death of you if you are hit first by a spell casting critter...aka seers or whatever. Maybe try it for a bit and see if you like it, because I've seen pures go either way with it.

If you have a high-leveled Paladin friend you can get armor fluidity to help with the hindrance. (I can't remember the exact numbers but they can knock it down to about half I think) It's really the only way to do it without being constantly pissed about missed casts. My 6% brig hindrance as a ranger bugs the hell out of me. LBP may be a good medium--but there are fewer nice sets out there.

As an empath, why stop at brig, when you can get into augmented chain?
