The shaving thread sparked another question for me.

I know most women wax/pluck their eyebrows... but do any guys here? It's not as rare as I once thought.

Myself.. my sister sits me down and does it every couple months or something.. but I've never sat there and done it myself. Ow.

Only twisted, deranged, and desperate women dig unibrows Tayre.

You get used to tweezing or waxing.

My boyfriend shaves his. Which I don't really understand because the hair just grows back thicker and coarser. He refuses to let me tweeze or wax..it would be so much easier on him though!

No, but if my eyebrows decide to ever betray me like they did my grandfather and turn into mini afros on my face I most certainly will.

Men as they get older suffer with eyebrow hair that does not stop growing. It's a part of aging along with hair spurting from their ears. When I was in school it was a common curtesy to ask older men if they would like their eyebrows trimmed and ears cleaned.

And seriously, it's a myth about hair growing back coarser and thicker. One explanation my head instructor gave (she was on the Montana State Board of Cosmotology) so she knows what she's talking about. Is that when hair is cut the tips are blunted off, therefor making it feel coarser. People will also think waxing causes more hair growth and that is partly true. The easy explanation is that hair requires blood to grow, pulling the wax from the skin causes more blood to flow to the area to try and heal it. In turn, some of the dormant hair follicles become active with the influx of blood. That's your interesting hair fact for the day. :spin:

Tweeze it, wax it, shave it, something! Unibrows are NOT attactive.

Sometimes big eyebrows are hot, for example, Charlie from Busted has big but sexy eyebrows: http://www.blissmag.co.uk/dyn_images/vote_celebs_large/busted_large.jpg

Everytime I hear unibrow, I keep getting the mental image of the ugly lady from Austin Powers butch girlfriend. The one wearing the golf glove.

Damn you all for putting this image in my head at eight o'clock in the morning.

He's hot. Some guys can play off bushy eyebrows, but just as long as they don't have a unibrow. Nae on unibrows.

One day my eyebrows will grow to be as big as Peter Gallaghers and on that day they will leap from my face and proceed to take over the world

Tijay, when that day comes you will probably thank your eyebrows for taking the plunge.

As long as they give me credit for raising them well in their world domination speech I will be happy :)

I thought I had heard that waxing also helped stop hairgrowth. If you wax so much it'll grow back thinner, etc?

I had my eyebrows professionally shaped and waxed a few years ago, so now all I have to do is pluck the strays as the grow. Part of my beauty routine, everyday. In all the posts about body hair I have to say, I'm not a hairy person, even if I didn't shave my legs for a week it wouldn't matter. On the other hand my hubby was a shaggy dog in another life.

I had a barber who would trim my eyebrows with those mini-clippers they use for the back of your neck. He also would run it over my ears (the outer edge) even though all I had was like, peach fuzz only seen in sunlight from behind.

I miss him (he opened his own construction company)

I pluck my eyebrows, when I'm feeling un-lazy.

Shaving eyebrows is really pointless, the only thing more unattractive than giant bush eyebrows is short stubbly ones.

I guess big eyebrows work in some circumstances. His are friggin huge:

Myself, I try to shave anything that might look like the start of a unibrow every few weeks.

I'll take short stubby eyebrows over penciled in eyebrows.

I get my eyebrows waxed every two weeks. I just tweeze for maintanence.

I keep debating trimming this minor split in the eyebrow over my left eye to make it match the one on my right. But in the end I realize I'm just too lazy and rationalize that it adds character.

I have too much eyebrow to be a do-it-yourselfer. If I didnt get them waxed and tweezed I'd have what I call a "Bert and Ernie" (unibrow).

I have a scar from a skateboarding accident that has left the hair on one part of my left eyebrow a bit sparse. I don't notice it for the most part.

Careful shaving lines into your eyebrow. You might go overboard and we'd have another Vanilla Ice on our hands.

I don't wax mine anymore. I'm so fricking blonde (naturally) that you can't see em most of the time anyway. I KNOW those annoying little stray hairs are there but since I don't wear make-up often anymore it's not really obvious. Like it was anyway to begin with.

OMG Did anyone else do this in highschool!? That and shaving the sides of your head.. I had lines and mickey mouse..

EDIT to add.. I "PERSONALLY" did not shave lines into my eyebrows.. I just knew people who did.

Nope, never had my eyebrows waxed although I thought about it. My eyebrows are really dark and naturally thick, but you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at me. I tweeze mine, usually spend Saturday mornings doing the "high maintnence" plucking and then during the week I'll pluck random stray ones.

That's a myth, according to 20/20 (or some show like that) myth busters, was on the other night.

I tweeze the middle of my brows so I don't have a uni, but that's all I'll do.

OW, Beth. I refuse to do it myself, it hurts. Bring on the ladies with the hot wax please, because I can rationalize that since I'm paying for it, I can sit still while they do it.

I have a really hard time inflicting pain on myself. I'm also a big baby.
