Level 29 Bard Hunting Advice?

My little polearm bard is 29, halfway to 30, and I'm struggling to find him a good hunting ground. Any suggestions? He swings a sonic lance with a 7 second RT, so something that's not particularly quick would be better.

7 seconds is wayyy too slow. The lance is an awesome weapon but consider the jeddart axe against skin and leather armors or the hammer of kai against brig, chain, or plate armors.

This will take you down to 5 seconds I believe. Also find out when your dex and agi bonus combined reach the following. +8, +23, (which you probably have), +38, +53 (which is when you will swing at lance at 5 seconds un-aimed). That will tell you alot about when you will be able to use a lance to its fullest capability as a bard.

The glacier is a great place for bards...ya should be able to sleep Titans and Giants and any of the polearms do alot of damage against those critters, but I think the jeddart axe is the best.

Are you trained for the armor you are wearing? You are close to being able to wear brig with minimal hinderances. Might be worth doubling a few times just to get there and then not train again for a bit in armor.

I like EN and hunter trolls, scaled burgees, etc for bards.

I'm at +37 right now, so I may just dig around for an enhancive to get me through for the moment. I'll give the jeddart-axe a spin when I get home tonight, too... that sounds like it could work. I'm trained for my brig, but encumbrance is always an issue when you're a gnome. I had been planning to make him a pure shortly after turning 30, but I like the potential of the polearms, as long as I can keep my DS up and my swing times low.

I'm having a lot of luck hunting the glacier... yay for uphunting... my AS/DS is 293 / 267 with all spells and signs up, in offensive. In defensive, my DS is 408.

I was going to recommend the glacier. My warmage just started hunting there at 26. Hooray uphunting indeed. Glad you found a good spot.
