So we had to have a senior class meeting to decide our song for prom. I didn't really get the big deal cause it's just going to be one song of many but... these were the choices. If you were there, which cheesy song would you have picked?

Time of Your Life because that was my class' song.

High school is lame, by the way. Congrats on getting out.

It's also the only one on the list that doesn't suck.

In Your Eyes....the light, the heat, In Your Eyes...I am complete

Cheesey for a prom song. Pretty good for gettin' busy after the prom. :socool:

Time of Your Life is the best choice there, but they all suck, and so does high school.

I would have chosen When You're Next to Me purely because it's the song I'm currently listening to,

I haven't heard any of them except time of your life. I wouldn't pick that one because it's stupid.

It is pretty stupid for a class song, considering it's about his divorce.

Our prom song was "Angel Eyes" I wanted it to be "Big Booty Ho's" You know big booty ho's get wit it.

Yeah prom was alright but you always have that group of idiots that have know idea what it means to have class and they just bring down the ambiance of the evening. I wanted to punch every moron in some ghetto suit or sneakers. It's a black tie affair you fucks!

Kids with no class pissed me off alot in high school, there is a time for airwalks and baggy, wrinkley, haha I can prove my mom didn't dress me clothing and there is a time for tails. Shit I was the only one there that actually had a bow tie and not some lame clip on, pre tied, hi my shit is rented and doesn't fit crap.

Ohh yeah if anyone needs a tux and is about 5'9" 33" waist and 42" chest let me know I still have my tux from high school (4 whole years ago) too much weight lifting makes for expensive upkeep on the ol' tailored clothing collection of mine.

P.S. I actually wanted our prom song to be "This is the moment" from the Broadway musical Jekyl and Hyde but I was voted down because no one knew what the hell I was talking about...

* Edit to add the PS because I forgot *

Here's to the Night is probably my favorite on the list.. but overall, lame choices for a prom song. Better than ours though, it was "My Heart Will Go On."

I don't get what the big deal is. It's one song out if like fifty and I'll probably hate all the songs anyway.

heh My date got beatup in the bathroom at prom.....

The Green Day song definitely lost all kewlness once it was used on Seinfeld's last ep.

Going to an all guy's school had its fringe benefits: Like not having to pick a stupid song for our prom. All us guys didn't care, and the girls weren't students at the school, so they had no say.

Time of Our Life was our 8th grade song. Fuck that shit.

In Your Eyes has a pretty unique meeting to me, from a retreat I was once on - it's by far my favorite song on the list, but as a prom song? I dunno.

1994, Dookie, track 13: In the End.

There is no song called Time of Your Life or Good Riddance.

Edit: And I have the CD, I just checked.

Any of those are better than what my senior class ended up with:

Christopher Cross - "Sailing"

Although "Another One Bites the Dust" was on the ballot, too, and that's what everyone claimed they voted for. Now, that would have been an awesome prom theme. Or Chuck Mangione's "Feels So Good" -- your date couldn't try to sing it to you, since there are no vocals!

About all I remember about my prom was dinner beforehand. We went to a steakhouse, and my date ordered a glass of Mateus, pronouncing it mah-tey-oose rather than mah-toose. I wanted to crawl under the table to escape the waiter's knowing smirk. And later, he pronounced suave as swah-vey. (Yes, in the Dark Ages in Texas, the legal drinking age was 18. Actually, I was legal at 18, then Congress passed the highway fund withholding to force states to go to 21, so I was illegal again at 20. It was funny.)

Several years ago, my mom cleaned out her closets and gave my perfect pink prom gown to a friend who was dressing in drag for charity. Nothing like having your memories of the perfect dress devastated by a drag queen. Ooof.

Ha! Thats funny Ylena....on all counts.

How bizarre to be of legal drinking age one day and not legal the next.
