I'm trying to remember the name of it but there was a sandwich shop that made some awesome sammiches in Mukilteo. When I was in high school my friends and I always went to the beach there and we'd hit up the sandwich shop before hand.

Fuck I miss WA. It's been years since I've been back :/ Perhaps that will be my next trip!

I have a ton of pictures in general but here are some directly pertaining to my brother!

His division at graduation. He was grateful that we didn't wear shirts that said I LOVE MY SAILOR or bring him stuffed toys, etc like so many other people did. My sister is pissed we didn't get a picture of him and my brother Andy together in their blues.

David enjoying his first meal outside of chow. Two weeks before this picture was taken he got clocked in the face by a fellow recruit. The dude was a sociopath and was always causing shit/going directly against orders/failing to conform.. from the stories in the letters I got, the whole division hated him (if soap raids still existed this guy would have been the victim). My brother was standing watch and was instructed to keep a walkway clear and the guy kept standing in it despite my brother telling him to move, my brother got chewed out, guy went to stand in it again which resulted in David yelling at him to get his ass clear of the walk. The guy wheeled toward David, David tucked his hands behind him, said "Make my day, fucker" and took the punch because he knew it'd finally get the guy sent home. It worked, but we were all expecting to see some bruising remaining.

And the next day with my dad at the Museum of Science and Industry. He was sick as hell though and we spent a good two hours sitting on a bench while he downed close to 10 bottles of gatorade. My dad and I both caught the boot camp crud from him. Curses.

Very cool. Cracks me up kids graduate boot with the National Defense Medal. Not just Navy, all branches, and they have been since it was awarded post 9/11. I'm thinking at least get through MOS school first :)

Watching people break down, you feed on that weakness it was epic. Drill kicked ass, the stupid games kicked ass, it all kicked ass. The hardest part of boot was getting the bearing to not laugh. DIs say some of the funniest shit and recruits do some of the most retarded things. All around 3 months of pure win.
