What was the formula to know when a stat would increase regardless of its GI?

This used to be moderately important in the GS3 days and I want to know it again just in case I can tweak my soon to be budding sorcerer...and one day monk...hahahha.

Your question is unclear. GIs are the only thing that determine when a stat will increase. If your stat is currently x and your GI is y, it will increase on levels evenly divisible by trunc(x/y). The math is fairly tedious, it is advisable to use a utility (Tsoran, Lost Ranger, CPhillips) to crunch the numbers for you.

Ah what I think and what comes out seems to be different.

Before when I did this all by hand beforecrazy things like spreadsheets and stuff you would find a statiscal bonus because you placed your stats a certain way where even though the GI said it should rise every three levels or whatever it will actually rise twice in a row. This was always a good place to place starting stats that happened to coincide with those spots.
