View Full Version : Fatigue in warcamps

Recently, I've noticed that I'm getting fits of fatigue similar to when you get stung by a wasp on Teras. I'm assuming that this is new because I have never seen it in the 150 warcamps I did prior to yesterday. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm guessing this comes from wall of thorns that the rangers have up. Besides simply not hitting the wall, is there any way that I can lessen the fatigue or avoid it all together?

Yeah, I noticed this once or twice last weekend. I'm not certain what's causing it either. It usually passed pretty quickly, and I'm not even certain what the penalty was.

Definitely from the thorns on the rangers. I get the same thing, and it's a royal pain. I dunno how to deal with it other than run and wait for it to wear off, though.

Yeah you got it from the ranger wall of thorns (I saw it happen to Rogane), it hit me too. There's no way to avoid it, it just takes a while to run it's course.

I did a bunch of 500 camps last night. In one instance, it hit my bard and I didn't realize how bad it was getting. He passed out and all his songs fell. Lucky I could fog us out.

Did it stack? I'm really unfamiliar with how this fatigue works. I didn't notice my characters stamina take a hit, but, I think I saw his AS drop a bit.

I noticed it myself and can only guess that recently it has started working as intended.

It does stack. It starts with minor AS/DS drop, then it goes into adding RT. From there, it can paralyze you, leaving you stunned, offensive, and prone.

Great...and I suppose this wasn't announced either.

WoT has been that way for years. I'm not sure why it would need to be announced.

Yes, but I don't believe it was enabled (the fatigue portion) for grimswarm until now. Whether this is a bug fix, or a design change, a heads up would have been nice.

For what it's worth, I've done camps for the last... year or so? And it's done that the whole time. It might have gotten amped up, but with my previous wizard I would die frequently whilst rapidfiring and not seeing the message for the thorns until it was too late.

It happened to me for the first time over the weekend and I've razed over 200 camps.

Wall of Thorns hits you when you're bolting? What the crap is that?

note: that first one is an actual question

Could have possibly just been some tuning, but I typically use haste in the camps (2 second RT) and really don't recall seeing it as much as I did last weekend. Could just be a run of bad luck?

I just noticed that WoT is activating even after I kill the critter.

You swing a bloodstained vultite sledgehammer at a Grimswarm troll guard!
AS: +578 vs DS: +286 with AvD: +38 + d100 roll: +54 = +384
... and hit for 161 points of damage!
Brain driven into neck by mammoth downswing!
[You have earned 55 prestige points.]
The troll guard rolls over and dies.
A Grimswarm troll guard seems to lose an aura of confidence.
A Grimswarm troll guard loses a thorny barrier.
A Grimswarm troll guard returns to normal color.
The deep blue glow leaves a Grimswarm troll guard.
The thorny barrier surrounding the troll guard blocks your attack!
One of the vines surrounding the troll guard lashes out at you, driving a thorn into your skin! You feel poison coursing through your veins.

:wtf:

I'll also vouch for the fact that this has always happened in camps. It's nothing new. It has happened as long as I can remember. This is coming from a bolting wizard, so I can't speak for weapons but would assume it is the same.

That is odd, do you have a warrior bond to the weapon where you have a chance to double strike by chance?

I do have a warrior bond, but that strike was part of an mstrike not a double strike

i believe poison resistance will help with the poison part. Con stat plays a role with the fatigue portion, and so does level (but grimswarm are always like-aged or so).

Does anyone have all the WoT fatigue messaging handy so I can highlight it?

Although you can't seem to move as quickly as you usually can, you're feeling better than you were just moments ago.

It's getting increasingly difficult to move. It feels almost as if the air itself is growing thick as molasses.

You find yourself gradually slowing down, your muscles trembling with fatigue.

While you're still a bit shaky, your muscles are responding better than they were.

Fine coordination is difficult, but at least you can move at something close to your normal speed again.

Your body begins to respond normally again.

The strange lassitude is growing worse, making it difficult to keep up with any strenuous activities.

You begin to feel a strange fatigue, spreading throughout your body.

There are some more, but I haven't seen them in a while and don't yet have them highlighted. You get them when it's so bad you pass out and fall.
