Hi, this might be a dumb question about the AG but I can't seem to find the answer.

What is the best way to milk the AG for the most experience? Is it good to turn in additional bounties even when you are already saturated? Should you rest until cleared, turn one in, and rest again?

What do you all think?

For exp gain? Turning in a bounty while saturated nets you 0 exp, so obviously that doesn't work out so well.

In a purely theoretical world, you want to complete a bounty every 15 minutes and turn in the bounty on the pulse where you go from Saturated to Fried to maximize the amount that gets immediately absorbed. In reality, keeping up with that much running around is borderline pathologically insane.

Thanks! I guess that kind of is what I'm wondering. I know that Krakii says some of the exp is absorbed instantly so that's what I'm trying to figure out, how much and when's the best time to do it.

:yeahthat:

That's exactly what I attempt when I'm in a hardcore exp mood, but yeah, it rarely works out perfectly. Too many foraging and escort tasks for my liking, so sometimes you have to get extended to 30, 45, etc... minutes between bounties if you don't get lucky and get the kind you like.

But Kitsun stated it perfectly. If you're trying to get as much experience as possible, you should always grab a new bounty as soon as it's available (15 minutes from your last assignment). Or if you get a bounty you don't like, you sort of get a second chance if you find a partner that has a good bounty, and you want to do some culling. I really like what group bounties have done for socialization, if you can call group hunting socializing...

Really my intent is to completely confirm and support Kitsun's response, and emphasize that you turn in the bounty as soon as you become unsaturated.

NEVER turn one in when you're still saturated or you will be filled with self loathing at least temporarily.

In addition to agreeing with what the others have said, if I'm really trying to power XP gain, I'll log out and wait 15 between tasks if I get one I don't like.

Also, that partner bounty thing is a good suggestion. I completely forgot about it.

If you hunt the rift, you can just buy your foragables at Poloneus' shop and your skins/pelts at mine, (Aalish's shop), create your own gem hoard and then half of your tasks you never have to leave town for. What could be better? Extra coins for me and done tasks for you!

Uhhh. Now I didn't do the math on this but I would wager spending more time logged in and absorbing will net you more exp than being logged out during the same time frame.

If you're only comparing logged in time to exp gain, I guess your log out method works but I can't figure out why you would want to do that. Can your character not hunting and only complete bounties for exp?

Oh yea, that's definitely the case. What I meant though was that instead of waiting out the 15 minutes in game, I log on and off until I get a task I can either do quickly or for extra exp along the way.

To give a relatively (within the last few months) recent example, I got an escort to TI that I turned down and then logged out. 15 later, I came back in and got a cull 17 (I think) stone trolls. I'm not much for the really detail-oriented math, but what I do in that case is hammer out the kills while I'm still saturated, then sit on a supernode until I'm back down to fried, turn in the task, rinse and repeat. While it doesn't keep me on node the entire time I'm saturated, it does keep me at saturated for all but maybe one pulse while I'm on the node. Plus that instant exp with XXX running does some solid damage to that "until next level" number and I think (again, not positive) that this method maximizes that.

Does that make sense? Today is apparently not one of those day where I'm so much with the words, so if that's not clear I can try again.

I got ya, I'm just not sure if it is worth it to try to keep each pulse of XXX in saturated versus just keeping fried with hunting and absorbing over that time.
