The chileans have had some pretty crazy quakes in the past. Unlike Haiti, most of the buildings are built to withstand quakes. I can't foresee the death toll being anywhere near what Haiti's was, regardless of quake strength.

At least I'm hoping. I have friends down there close enough to be considered family. Down in Talca, which is rather near to the epicenter. Death toll seems minimal- we're hoping here.
