The interview video is pretty sad, though. It's clear this guy has serious mental health issues. When he's talking about his mom's death as the reason he needs to get his shoes shined (which is apparently how the scuffle began), I get this odd feeling that his mom died like 20 years ago, and at best he has a blurred sense of the timeline.

Which brings me to my next point: Almost all the fights I've seen on public transportation have directly involved (and started with) old people. I've had to use my MetroCard two times because a bus-driver won't let a 120-year-old person without a fare catch a ride. Both times this happened (although it's happened way more than two times when I've rode the Bx) the driver was black -- And was stepped up to by two or more of his fellow brethren, which has ended up, before, in my needing to get a transfer because the driver couldn't manipulate the steering equipment after a broken ribcage.

The one that sticks in my mind the most, is when I was taking the Liberty Lines from the City back to The Bronx and some 90-year-old cat lady decided that the ride was "too bumpy" and went up to the front of the bus and continued, without taking a breath, to demand the driver's name, birthday and social security # for half an hour. And she didn't get her ass kicked off. The bus applauded when she finally left her stop and everyone, including myself, was screaming especially loud 'thank yous' to the driver on the stops afterwards.

Also, whoever it is that manages to sabotage the coin and card slot so that they don't work and everyone gets a free ride is/are my hero/heroes.
