How feasible are these and will I be screwed on DS in the later levels?

It can be done, DS will be similar but slightly lower than an archer rogue.

It's easily done and very successful

The beauty of ambushing with two-handed weapons is the SIZE of them removes the "height" restrictions a lot of critters have relative to using smaller OHE/OHB/Brawl weapons. In other words, you might be able to hit a frost giant's head without a knockdown with a THW, but not a OHE. RT is going to kill you later on more than the DS, or lack thereof. That's just my prediction, I could be wrong.

Being and elf, half-elf, sylvan, or half-krol shouldn't have too much of an issue with RT or height restrictions. Just use a mattock or maul for 100% crush and low RT. If you hit the head, the target is dead. I have a little THW rogue that I let use my expertly crit weighted mattock. It's is quite amazing.

If everything goes right the character will be a human and using a coraesine bastardsword. I can make it work

You're going to have to jack up your INF and DIS to get the stats to be able to not kill yourself hunting with it.

Honestly for a coreasine bastard sword wouldn't an mstrike build be more likely, mstrike and TWC?

WRoss

Too each, their own. I wonder how that second swing would work on an ambush. Double strike to the same area?

I'm very much interested in this as well. I'm still arduously working on a proper build now that I'm returning. I'm debating between TWC with picking, TWC without picking and THW without picking. I'd love to go blunt but don't know that I can afford the additional cost over edged weapons.

To add to the initial post, anyone have any tips on a THW build?

Thanks,
Frozz

1x armor, 1x cman, 1x ambush, 1.5x hide, 2x THW, 2x percep, 1.5x dodge, and 1x PF. Anything extra, spread it around. I'd suggest using flamberges to start as they are easier to aim. Eventually move to mattock/maul.

The coraesine bastard sword is attuned so I don't have to worry about the backlashing. MStriking would be interesting as well

I currently run a lower lvl rogue with THW. I have a few other friends who are doing it too.

Futtilo is the one who turned me onto this. He Runs THW and has spells up to e-wave and 150 mana or so. It's retarded. You 1 shot everything EASILY. He was running psinet Counts of his hunts in the bowels. His preliminary data shows almost a 98-99% 1-shot kill rate. 15 hunts he died once, not bad for the bowels at all.

I'll post my little rogues skills when I get home tonight.

You can't pick very well at first unless you stay in double leather and 1x dodge for a long while. maybe even 1.5x Cman

Oh, and my rogue is lvl 16. He swings a +24 mattock.. with wizard strength and col.. 250 AS.

He's half-elf.. I can ambush with a mattock or maul in 6 seconds. Once my Agil and Dex bonuses are high enough (88 each for half-elf)

Yeah, the coraesine greatsword aimed at the same area. Had potential to miss like any swing, but it would be amazing for someone with the stats.

Level 35 burghal gnome. Swings a plain old 4x maul. Incredibly effective. Currently making up ambush training to full 2x.

Dirtkick is great for those pesky critters that don't seem to want to let you hide. And it's very easy to get 4-5 ranks in it..

This guy I was messing around with silentstrike...

Level 47 THW ambushing and hiding rogue. I'd like to have some spells and also pick pocket. I'm not really concerned with picking.

1 x armor
2 x THW
2 x ambush
2 x dodging
2 x hiding
2 x perception
1 x pick pocketing
1 x cmans
1 x physical training
.5 x harness power

10 x minor elemental

I have 317 physical and 136 mental left to use, not sure where to put them. What do I have to do to start getting redux?

Alright, i bumped it up to 2x PT, added 5 ranks of MOC and 20 ranks of swimming

I survived fine up to 66 when I last logged out. I maxed out my combat skills, so 2x THW, 2x CM, 80 ranks of Armor for MBP (getting to this point was a huge turning point in survivability). I then spread the points around 1.5x PT, 1.5x Ambush, 1x Perception, was working on raising dodge to 2.5x. Everything else is gravy.

5 Ranks of MOC, 25 of Swim/Climb/Symbols/MIU/Survival/FA.

This is just me, but I personally love silent strike. It's great for situations when there's 2+ critters in the room. Silenstrike one of them and it's stunned, then ambush the other, works almost every time.

You need 2-3 ranks in silent strike for it to work effectively though. Not wasteful in my opinion, but yeah..

Ranged ftw.
